"Lovely, spacious pub with outdoor seating and easy to find as it’s beside the A26. The staff were friendly and helpful. A path leading from the spacious car park also allows for a peaceful, rural stroll after you’ve eaten, on the edge of the Ashdown Forest. Some well-kept Harvey’s ale was available, though it would have been nice to have had a wider choice of cask ales. My meal seemed to have been left under a heat lamp for a little too long, leaving it a bit dry on the outside, but this wasn’t the case with the other meals and the food was otherwise tasty and good value. Well worth a visit."

We almost missed the fact that the menu was available. It would have been nice to be informed before we sat down and ordered drinks.

Was not aware dog friendly as did not read all the blurb at the end. Would not eat there again as dogs should not be in the dining room health and safety

the restaurant was quiet. the food was good delicious and hot and the service was relaxed, but reasonably attentive. all in all a very nice afternoon with family

we have to switch the STAFF assets and check how to do in more or more open or private areas, whether the meal is good and whether they do it when they have it. that's all. View menu

The table was perfect and so clean the waiter was the best but a lot of things were off the menu. Three of us had roasts. the potatoes were awful and veg undercooked waiter offered two free puddings he is an asset to your restaurant

my friend and I had just completed a 10 miles foot in 3 hours, so it was great to receive a warm welcome at the entry and the offer of pre-lunch drinks that were quickly produced. we were well served in our lunch by steph, which was polite, friendly and efficient. the food itself was very good (we had both the sea bass in a pea and pancetta veloute). first visit, but certainly not the last. My friend and I had recently finished a 10-mile walk in 3 hours, so it was wonderful to be greeted warmly upon entering the restaurant and offered pre-lunch drinks promptly. Steph took great care of us during our meal, being polite, friendly, and efficient. The Sea Bass in Pea and Pancetta veloute that we both ordered was delicious. This was our first visit, but it definitely won't be our last.

The online reservation system was not functioning properly, as we arrived at the restaurant there was no record of our reservation. Luckily, they had a spare table available, although not in the location we requested. The service was slow and my steak was tough and arrived cold. It felt like they were rushing us out, mentioning that the bar closes at 10:00pm on a Saturday night. The restaurant was nearly empty by 9:30pm, so it seemed like other guests were aware of this as well.
