"Usually good food up until a month ago. Two repeated events of poor cold food. Several weeks ago freezing cold sub standard food, surf and turf, told usual chef not in, gave them the benefit of the doubt as we like the venue, paid bill in full, ignored it. Just revisited, ordered two Chateaubriand for 4 persons, they had none in stock, so then they offered fillet instead. Came freezing cold, sliced into cold strip steak for some crazy reason like you'd put it in a wrap or something, utter rubbish, it was like cold rump not fillet worth £110. Asked to speak to owner or get owner to call me. Kirsty waitress really rude, refused to take number and denied the food was cold, apparently mediocre cold food is okay. Really rude, substandard food. This place has gone down hill, certainly the food and staff don't match the nice venue. If you like substandard food and rude staff look no further! Well done Kirsty, great service. Walked out, didn't eat it. Seriously, credit where it's due, used to be good food decent atmosphere, now though, two bad meals and now rude staff. What a shame. Owner: Kirsty refused to take my number, you interested in responding or talking to me? I like your venue but you are taking a bad turn, two bad meals and rude staff refusing to test food for themselves or touch the food for temperature, and denying there was cold food, seriously? Chef refused to accept it was cold and waitress passing on equally rude behavioural approach. Accept your food has gone mediocre pub at best, certainly not restaurant standard, get a new chef and some nice polite staff with decent customer service. Only then will we return for food. I fear I waste my breath here?"

Stopped by for a drink with our children. Friendly staff, the children enjoyed the park in the sunshine . A quintessential English abode. Nice malbec !

Nice atmosphere, depending on the day. Friday night is best. Food is average. Pizza on the menu. Good for casual drinks with friends and pool table can be fun.

Ordered three Shandies, and the barmaid didn't know what a shandy was. Started to pour lemonade for the first one then run out of lemonade. There was none down the cellar. Oh dear, had to have something else.

Beautiful food in beautiful surroundings. They didn't have a kids menu but accommodated by allowing them to share. Polite staff, great Sunday dinner and a lovely roaring fire. Just what we needed after a long chilly walk.

Got there a little late for lunch but they put themselves out to deliver a tasty meal. Nothing too much trouble for staff, very friendly and welcoming. A nice mix of people including families. We will definitely be going again and highly recommend.

First time visiting the Dartmouth arms, nice looking traditional countryside pub. Good/Decent pint of Madri served. Friendly staff. Good traditional Sunday dinners served and plates were cleared in good time. Considering I had just come off a night shift and normally abit grumpy, it was a very welcoming atmosphere, good food, good beer, me my better half and another couple/friends were left very full and satisfied. Will definitely be visiting again to try more of the menu. I give it 4 out of 5.

Visited with friends on a Friday night. Early on the place was full of drinkers and a few people waiting for takeaway pizza, we were the only ones eating in. Both the food and the beer were excellent and would get full marks anywhere. The landlady and barmaid were more interested in chatting to customers in the bar or going out for a cigarette than serving and the place just looked tired. I appreciate that this is a country pub and the they seem to do a good service for locals with excellent beer and a takeaway pizza, and the chef has a real talent. However, the place needs an injection of money to tidy it up and the staff need an injection of enthusiasm.

My wife and I met in this pub nearly 40 years ago, so we’re looking forward to the visit. Sadly, however, it was a disastrous Sunday lunch. The whitebait starter was nice but expected it to come on a plate with perhaps some nice salad garnish, rather than just in a bowl. To follow, I ordered the 3-roast lunch and my wife ordered the roast turkey. Mine arrived with just turkey, no pork or beef and my wife’s was missing the chipolata sausages. Although the staff were very apologetic and went to get the missing items, we found the rest of the food to be lukewarm at best, very thin gravy and what should have been roast potatoes were actually baby potatoes which had been baked. Again the staff we...

"Been wanting to come here for a very long time after driving/walking past it, and my partner has wanted to come here since she’s moved here. Hand sanitizer upon arrival with track trace check in code. All the staff are very welcoming, friendly, helpful and all very masks. The lady we had who served us throughout our time (apologise I forgot her name began with A I think), she couldn’t have been anymore helpful. With a very wide range of food, she told us everything on the menu was very nice as she has tried everything! The decor of the restaurant is what I’d expect in a typical Italian restaurant, very rustic and has a feel of being in Italy. To start I had the belly pork with Jack Daniels sauce, I’ve never tried belly pork and it was so tasty and very tender. My other half had the goats cheese in filo pastry which was also very nice. For mains, I had the Risotto con salsiccia (spicy sausage, peppers, onions, garlic, tomato and chilli). It was so nice I’m glad it was a big portion as I wanted more! I don’t think the sausage was spicy but overall I was very impressed. Other half had a cheese chicken mushroom calzone which was also nice. We had a nice bottle of white wine which absolutely complimented the whole meal. For dessert I had sorbet and other half had a deep fried cannoli once again both really nice. Reasonable priced meal for two people, and very highly recommended. Plenty parking and we will be back soon with our family. Very authentic home cooked Italian food and Cafe Casita is way better than some of these chain restaurants!!"
