"Noticed the reviews on Trip Advisor reviews, we went late October on a Saturday, delightful meal for two quality salmon and quality meals wouldnt hesitate in recommending. Went back midweek in November the meals were really poor we ordered exactly the same meals and the...contrast was so marked. Poor food quality a head) If it was a cheap and cheerful Wetherspoons you would of just about accepted the food on offer. Bland. Rather than post a Negative review I never do I then emailed the owners and just simply asked.....Has the Chef Changed ?...is this a case of Weekend Chef...Midweek Chef? I got an email back with a load of Platitudes but No Answer to my direct question whatsoever and that was that. Im not returning given the visit and how they responded to a minor complaint which was exceptionally complimentary for the majority from a customer who described his first visit as just Outstanding. But the judgement of great customer service , is what you do when it goes wrong. In this case they failed to answer me whatsoever. I am just wanting to know, given the dates, where they different chefs ?..Thats all i asked. They hope their words) we associate with them in the future and that is that.Based on my response. NO"

The pork ribs were probably the meatiest that I've ever had and very tasty! The cauliflower and red onion bhaji was a real winner and an excellent example of the imagination and attention to detail of the chef!

We were here for Mother's Day and I have to say it was perfect. We all had the carvery and it was incredible. One of the best roast dinners I've ever had, even my picky brother loved it. We will definitely be coming back. View menu

We have been to the Elm Tree before but only for drinks. This time it was weekend lunch starting with prawns and then an excellent salmon dish. Friendly service and good ale as well. Not that easy to find as it's hidden away from the...main road between Downham Market and Wisbech so sat-nav will help.

I called here an evening with my laptop to do something work and asked for a nice quiet corner and the staff was very helpful. the food was fantastic with a great choice in the offer and all cooked home. I couldn't even have one. manage dessert! I would highly recommend this place and now I have found that I again! View menu

Great little place! We enjoyed a night here yesterday. We had never been and had occasion to stay to pick up a new puppy in the area. The staff were fantastic. Particular call out to Jasmin and the chef. Both could not have been more...welcoming, engaging and attentive. We were lucky with the Steak Evening! The food was excellent. The room was comfortable with a comfy bed too. Would recommend. Thanks again!

Excellent gastro-pub with modern arty decor and everywhere very clean and smart. The food is truly top-notch and the staff friendly and cheerful. We both had chicken satay skiers as starter, teriyaki chicken for main, and the best cheesecake we’ve had for desert. The prices,...while not cheap are reasonable for such quality food, served up with great presentation. A very good choice for a celebration meal, or just for a relaxing evening out.
