"Not having been since the previous owners had it I wasn’t sure what I would find. The man with the colourful shirt had great personality , welcoming, thoughtful providing crayons/colouring for the children without being asked) we had the Freckles! Chilli chicken , amazing scotch eggs for starters followed by chicken roast, tender chicken amazing roast potatoes , tasty bouncy Yorkshire puds great veg, one of us had lamb again perfectly cooked. We forced down desserts and managed after champagne and sav blanc to get out the door! Great place with friendly staff fab food we will be back soon! "Also, I must mention the restrooms; the men's room was the cleanest I've ever encountered! I can't wait to return for another meal. This was the best dining experience I've had in ages, with exceptional service and a lovely setting. They are also very accommodating for dogs. I even asked my dog for his opinion, but all I got were excited barks, which I take as a good sign! Overall, a wonderful experience!"

"My family and I were quite disappointed with our lunch and the lack of customer service at The Windwhistle Inn. The food was extremely overpriced, with burnt and bland dishes. We were told there would be a carvery, but it wasn’t available. The customer service was lacking; there were no smiles or polite greetings, and no one bothered to ask us about our meal, which, frankly, was terrible! Although we were informed there would be a 25-minute wait, our food didn't arrive until over an hour later, and we received no updates or apologies during that time. In fact, other tables that arrived after us received their meals before we did. From what I’ve seen in other reviews, this pub has definitely changed ownership because the food didn't resemble the photos at all! This place has so much potential; it’s truly a shame and very disappointing."

"I would have promised my friend a afternoon for her 70th birthday, but we had a limited window on Thursday afternoon after 13 o'clock. we discovered that every caffeine in the neighbourhood has stopped serving to serve 15 o'clock and were about to give up despair when I remembered silver st. I was not optimistic about our chances, but the kitchen on silver st could not have been more helpful. we have a brilliant afternoon tea, served in fine porcellan, with a lace cloth, very generous amount of smoked salmon, sink and gurken sandwiches, choice of two types of cake from the many available plus excellent scenes, jam and cream and a large pot of good hot tee. we have pushed out the boot and added a glass prosecco, but it was still less than £20 per person. a couple of years ago I took someone to the afternoon tee in the scribble and I can honestly say that it was not as good as this (and it was much more expensive). the service was also great. the caffe is open daytime and some evenings, offers a good selection of food and beautiful cake and is licensed. it is worth visiting whether a special occasion or just a coffee in the city. I'm going back to the finals."

"I had a huge amount of pizzas taken away from the stonemasons and young have delivered them! I celebrated a 30th birthday and had ordered about 15 pizzas to collect. I had some complicated nutritional requirements that she was happy to care for. in the did they went beyond and beyond and make sure that they all clearly marked and even suggested to do some pizzas garlic brot to meet these nutritional needs too. to eliminate everything, my bill was cheaper than expected, as they drove in the night 6 pizzas! the service was impeccable and the staff was super friendly. they even threatened in a free bottle prosecco to thank me for my order and to help with my celebrations! I would not have asked and would recommend it to everyone! Unfortunately, the pizzas didn't hang around long and I didn't snap a photo, but I got a moment of beyond what says in the grunde everything!"
