"normally a family lover, but our evening was a great departure from beginning to end! that should be a celebration for my motherbirth day. starter that we had missed, and we were told that we had to wait when they were busy with taking, but they could serve them with our main! the half of the main came then minutes later the rest came to which my daughter pizza was not cooked it was only diligent and fat, so after she came back a bowl chips for her that were not so inedible cooked, she was starving no starter or pornstars for her! the staff was quite rude and made us like a hindrance, not the night we had expected! Yes, we were a big party, but had all pre-ordered our meals, as not really sure how they worked so badly! a coworker even commented another kitchen hahn on huge let bad staff and bad eating!"

Had a lovely night in the firehouse tonight, made even better by the service from a wonderful Holly. She couldn’t be more helpful or eager to please. Such a nice atmosphere and welcoming setting.

Don't bother going here if you have any kind of allergy, even if you let them know beforehand and at the time of ordering they still serve you what you are allergic to. Obviously can be extremely dangerous. Watch out!!

Party of in private dining room, well looked after all evening by George. Nothing was too much from the staff at the Firehouse and the murder mystery rep made the evening as realistic as possible! All the girls at the party had a great...time, food was excellent including gluten free options.

Decided to pay this place a visit on the way back to Ilminster, wish I didn't. Sat is in a place which felt like the corridor looked at the menu for a Sunday roast, no vegetarian option unless you want a vegetarian burger with your...roast veg. Very pretentious over priced crock of s............

Had lunch with family which was a little disappointing. The chicken pie although tasty had soggy undercooked pastry. The shortbread served with icecream for dessert wasn't buttery and was also underbaked and we couldn't eat it. For the price we paid we were underwhelmed. Also...when we paid a service charge was added !!

We had heard about this place during lockdown who diversified buying a wood fired pizza oven, which became so popular because of the authentic quality. This pub now has become to eat not only pub food but also a pizza havem. Five of us decided...to give it a try last Saturday evening, something different from the usual Sunday roast for Mothers Day. The food we all decided to have happened to be all the the different pizza with some unusual toppings. They were absolutly delicious and the quality of service we received was great. A super evening all round thank you all.

we haven't been a million miles away for years and have never come across the firehouse .. what a manifestation! a really interesting menu with many quirkens on ordinary pub fare, including a pizza with drawn lamb, feta and tzatziki, which was incredible...and a venison and apfelburger with blue cheese.. if I hadn't been driving, I would have liked to have more really good friendly and attentive service, and eating came so fast that they would have been suspicious if they did not see it cooked in the huge pizza oven. we will definitely come back and try more dishes, find a real somerset. highly recommended.

"Our first visit to The George Inn at Donyatt, we've drove by it time's going to other places and it always looks such a nice place. We decided to have lunchtime meal there to celebrate our anniversary and weren't disappointed, beamed ceilings, log burner and brick fireplace, farm tools and pictures on the walls cosy and oldie worldy with friendly locals just how we like our pubs. The staff and owner were really friendly, polite and chatted to us as if we locals from the village, the waitresses were smartly dressed, polite attentive always smiling, cheerful, charming and chatty. Even the chef nodded and smiled to us the couple of times he walked through and the bar and table areas were spotlessly clean. Our meals starters and mains were absolutely fantastic and amazing as was the presentation, they were hot good amounts of food with tender succulent meats and vegetables and the mashed potatoes were creamy smooth and light and have never had better. There's a good selection of beers and I had local ale which was amazing, clear, cool with a nice head and tasted like nectar. We will definitely be coming back soon and we can definitely recommend this pub, restaurant and hotel to family, friends, neighbours and anyone. A very big well done and thank you to the owners, all the staff especially the chef, please please please keep this pub the way it is, it's an absolute treasure and gem of a place to find. YOU ALL MADE OUR ANNIVERSARY VERY SPECIAL Especially in these times when a majority of local village pubs are closing down and being turned into houses or flats, we must all support our local village pubs like The George Inn."
