"I dined at this restaurant while staying at the Branscombe campsite. It is a nice and friendly pub. We had made a reservation before going on holiday and were seated outside, which was okay, although we wished we had been informed beforehand so we could have dressed warmer due to the cool evening temperatures. My husband ordered the steak and chips and he really enjoyed it. I opted for the fish and scallop dish, which was tasty but the portion size was small and there was a lack of vegetables - only a small amount of garlic mash and four overcooked green beans. For what was served, I didn't feel that the £21 I paid was worth it."

My wife and I had a wonderful dinner here. Great, high quality food at a lovely traditional pub, which is run by very friendly and welcoming people.

A superb pub that sells local beer; cooks local food and the staff are very welcoming and helpful. The food was superb; my wife’s Hake and Scallops was scrumptious. Very generous portion sizes and a limited but enjoyable wine list. Great ambiance and a proper...

With wonderful walks around to Branscombe beach, this is one of my current favourite pubs to eat in an evening. Very dog friendly and definitely worth traveling up the hill a little bit further to find this pub. Very good quality pub food at a very reasonable price.

Disappointed to arrive to find pub closed until Wednesday Evening. Having walked from beer over to branscombe having previously checked in advance on website and Facebook pages as myself and my partner follow many local Facebook pages for beer and branscombe. To not have any...

After a challenging journey along narrow and winding roads, we finally reached the pub/restaurant located between two roads. The sign was hidden from one side, but visible from the other. They had a great variety of local beers and cider available. We enjoyed a delicious and generous meal there.

We had dinner at this restaurant twice during our four days in Branscombe. The menu is limited, but the food is delicious and reasonably priced. The pub has a simple atmosphere with good local beers, friendly staff, and a nice ambiance. Due to limited opening hours, it is recommended to call and make reservations in advance.

Visited on a Saturday evening as we are staying in Branscombe for a few days. We have been before and like the pub. I had the rump steak, which was cooked perfectly and was tasty. My partner had the game stew which was also tasty. The portion sizes were substantial. We both had puddings. I had chocolate ice cream and my partner had the bread and butter pudding. Both were nice. Would recommend and hope to visit again next time we are here

We had not intended to be around at lunch time, on the hottest day of the year in August. But rolled up at 1.45, found an unreserved table. Very warm welcome, and we were served within ,,20 minutes, every thing is cooked to order and they were busy. It's a good pub menu, not too many dishes, and more interesting than the average pub. Looks like a lot of thought has gone into this.We had crab salad, fish and chips. Both delicious. Well done the Fountainhead.
