Great service, fabulous food (mussels and beef sirloin). Last time sirloin was melt in the mouth, this visit, not quite as good. Great ambience and light music. View menu

I like the old world charm and mix of tables and chairs and seating areas. It would be nice when ordering dessert and coffee if they asked if we wanted them together or one after the other. Toilet itself was clean but not sure about walls, ledges and floors. They need a coat of paint too.

we just came back from our first visit to the French horn, but it will certainly not be our last! we had a delicious lunchtime with friends eating was excellent as the service was. we have booked again and I can't expect to go back to the wonderful devilled on roasted brot. my only problem was that it was an appetizer and not a main course. We have already booked again and I can't wait to go back for the wonderful devilled kidneys on fried bread... my only problem was that it was a starter and not a main course.

I must say I have been there a lot over the last 20 years and this was the most disappointing. The website gives a 'sample menu ' but the menu on Friday evening was very small and basically it mainly consisted of burgers. I had looked before I came and chose a pie (as it did not matter what one followed, then thought the brisket (as I had had it before) followed by ham and my friend has also looked (we suggested to we met there) had chosen halibut or ham. None of them were on the menu and I am not keen on burgers (and not a great lover of chips) but ordered the jerk chicken which was in a burger roll . Met here for a 'catch up ' with friends and booked online specifically requesting a quiet table. It just so happened that England had just played and won their way into the semi final of the World Cup. Consequently the bar area was very busy and loud (understandably) and it is the local village pub. There was a misunderstanding re the request and we shown to a table which was anything but quiet. We asked if we could be moved to a quieter table and the gentleman who greeted us could not have been more helpful.
