"Visited this pub over Platinum Jubilee weekend and booked a table for 7.30pm to allow plenty of time before food service stopped at 9pm (as advertised). Only when we were buying drinks at the bar were we told that the kitchen closed at 8pm and therefore we needed to order quickly, and our pudding too. This wasn’t a good start and felt really rushed. Beer was nice apparently and the food was ok but not great. The portions of chips were far too small and most were overcooked. The meat pie wasn’t really what we were hoping for it was basically a casserole with a disc of puff pastry on top. A traditional double crust pie would have been so much nicer. Desserts were ok chocolate fudge cake was warm and delicious but spotted dick rather dry. One of our party specifically requested plenty of custard but the half filled (tiny) jug of custard that arrived was frankly pathetic. Why ask customers exactly what they’d like, promise the world and then fail. Could have been so much better. On our walk home one of the locals overheard us talking and confirmed our views that the food was poor. Apparently the menu hasn’t changed in 11 years………"

This restaurant has disappointing steak and poor service. I was not satisfied and will not come back. It's a shame I won't be returning.

What could be a great pub in a lovely location is completely let down by the non existent customer service. The management are very unwelcoming and the food underwhelming. View menu

This charming pub is located in the village of Marcross. It's the perfect spot to grab a drink and relax after a walk along the coast. The pub serves good quality food, although it's not a fine dining establishment. It's a wonderful place to unwind, interact with the locals, and rejuvenate before heading back home. View menu

Fantastic location close to Nash Point. Somewhat frosty welcome from whom we took to be the landlady but other staff were much friendlier. Garden could do with more maintenance (dogs not allowed inside) but the food was better than expected albeit not spectacular. Butty Bach on draft which is always welcome. Price per person: £20–30 Food: 4 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 2

We enjoy exploring new dining spots, and The Horseshoes used to be a popular choice with great food and a nice atmosphere. However, our recent experience was disappointing. The food was subpar - the lasagne was dry and clearly not homemade, the chips were burnt, and the garlic bread seemed to have been reheated in the microwave. The menu and the chef both need some updating. Unfortunately, I will not be recommending this restaurant.
