"The restaurant's location, overall appearance, and pricing led me to anticipate a high-quality meal, but unfortunately, the experience did not meet my expectations. Despite being very hungry, the lack of enthusiasm from the staff and the subpar food tarnished my visit. I ordered a full breakfast, which was heaped onto my plate without any attention to presentation. The fried egg was especially disappointing, with undercooked white. I declined toast and hash browns, as I do not believe the latter has a place in a British breakfast. When offered an extra sausage and requesting extra bacon instead, the server seemed annoyed. I chose to dine in the conservatory, which was lovely with trees and birds. The sausages were large but lacked quality and were undercooked. The bacon had a greasy residue, likely from being treated with saline as in supermarkets. The black pudding was burnt and dry. For a price of £12, I expected much better. I regularly purchase breakfast items from my local butcher for less than £5 and can enjoy a much higher quality meal for two people."

Three of us had the same soup and we were all ill that night. Bit more than a coincidence I think .

This is such a fantastic restaurant but think the food is just wonderful but it is definitely not hot that’s vegetables and the main courses .I would say the standards are not so high as they used to be

Very poor selection of sandwiches, cheese and ham very dry and tasteless. Roast beef almost raw, some people like it rare but it was quite ridiculous. Offer of putting it under the grill, but this dries it out.

My husband and I have eaten here for years during our travels. Most recently we stopped in on Sunday 5th. It's always busy but we managed to find a table. We both had the cauliflower cheese soup and sandwich which were yummy, plus lovely traybakes.

House of Bruar Restaurant provided an amazing experience, especially with their generous and helpful staff. Despite arriving late due to a bad accident, the team accommodated us well, particularly with picky kids. The chicken ham pie was notably fantastic, and even the turkey pleased the young ones. Highly recommended for a great dining experience. View menu

My long history with this restaurant took a turn for the worse during my recent visit. The server seemed hostile and rushed us to make a quick decision when we arrived, despite us being the only customers in line. The condiments were not labeled, so when we asked for horseradish, the server pointed angrily and scowled. When we inquired about his day, he mentioned it was quiet, which explained his impatience. We hastily finished our meal and left without shopping, feeling unwelcome. The roast potatoes, which used to be my favorite, now seem to be of frozen variety and were unremarkable. The carrots were too hard to eat. Despite our disappointment, we chose not to complain. It's disheartening...

I went to House of Bruar for breakfast shortly after they opened on Sunday. The man serving food was extremely rude, especially to a lady who requested a plain, unbuttered roll with her bacon sandwich. He glared at her, rolled his eyes, threw the buttered roll on the floor, and then went into the kitchen where he could be heard berating her in his native language. This behavior was very disrespectful. Despite the high quality of other items at House of Bruar, the breakfast was mediocre. The tomato was raw in the middle, the bacon and hash brown were soggy, the sausages were good, the egg was fresh, and the toast was cold. Additionally, the staff were still setting up and cleaning despite the...

"We stumbled across this place on the last night of a fortnight in Scotland and couldn 't be more glad that we did and that they had space. We were seated promptly (underneath the fan thankfully considering the heatwave), asked whether we 'd eaten there before (we hadn 't), had the menu explained to us (suggested 3 tapas per person) and then left alone briefly to consider the menu. Once ordered, drinks were delivered in a timely fashion, followed by breads dips to tempt tide us over until our tapas arrived. It wasn 't very quick, but I didn 't think it was unduly long either just the right length of time for non fast food that is being prepared freshly. And when it arrived, we were delighted as it was delicious! The only slight disappointment was that salted cod wasn 't available, but that was soon forgotten. My personal favourite was the poached chorizo in red wine with honey glaze, but we were happy with all of our options (patatas bravas, haggis balls, pinchas de pollo, spinach chickpea stew, haddock in red pepper sauce and Spanish tortilla the latter really made by the spicy tomato salsa on the side). 5 between the two of us would probably have sufficed, which would have meant I had space for one of the ice creams, but in hindsight, I 'm glad I didn 't. Excellent service, delicious food, our best meal of our holiday. We probably won 't be back (living in Birmingham and all) but definitely would if we were local."
