The Lodge - Menu

Disappointing. Risotto stodgy overcooked. Batter on Haddock was soggy not crispy at all. Lot of stodge generally. Large portions but poor quality. Staff were very nice and turned the deafening music down when we asked.

Came here for afternoon tea. Big pot of tea which is good. Food was nice but we were served immediately, sandwiches were a wee bit dry. Think it had been made prior to us arriving and had been sitting. Cocktails were nice. No straws tho.

After almost giving up hope to get a decent lunch anywhere, we stumbled on this restaurant. Lucky! Pleasant seating outside, good food, friendly and efficient service restored us for the next leg of our journey. Worth making a detour for. View menu

I ate with lunch a party of five today. Given that Covid restrictions are still in operation in Scotland, the hygiene is far too relaxed here with dirty reused table-mat menus. Our waitress was very unhappy it seemed; grumbling about a rug and being generally...

We decided to pop in for a drink and dessert each. The drinks arrived promptly, but we had to wait a long time for our desserts. When they finally came, the chef yelled angrily from afar, and the staff seemed fixated on clearing unnecessary place settings for two people. View menu

The restaurant had a pleasant ambiance and the decor was appealing, however, the service left something to be desired. The burger was delicious but it was missing some of the toppings listed on the menu. When inquired about the coleslaw, we were informed that it was not included.

This was our first visit since it changed hands. We loved the old Carfraemill and now love the refurb and new menu!The staff were all efficient and polite. The food was delicious and the service quick. We finished our meal with a Chocolate fudge cake which had loads of sauce and was big enough for us to share.!Thank you for a lovely evening.

We came here for dinner as we were staying at the campsite next door. The food was lovely, great variety on the menu, the ribeye steaks were well rested and cooked to perfection. Excellent value including wine and gins. The service was friendly and efficient on what was a very busy night for the staff. Liked it so much we went for breakfast the next day too. We will be back.
