"I used to love this pub, where locals and tourists would come together for a drink or a meal. However, my last two experiences have been horrible, and I will not be coming back. The first time I returned, the music was too loud and outdated, ruining the peaceful atmosphere of Aberlour. Last night, I stopped by for a drink as advertised on Facebook, only to be told the bar was fully booked and I couldn't get a beer, even though there were plenty of empty tables and space at the bar. I have never been to a bar where I couldn't get a drink, even in remote places around the world. The service was poor and unapologetic, with young staff who seemed clueless. I suggest avoiding this place if you want a genuine local experience. Until the management changes, I will not be returning to this unpleasant establishment, despite my past loyalty."

A classic pub in a beautiful building. Good food and service. They had a huge whisky selection, but as it was lunch we didn’t imbibe.

I brought my family and friends to lunch without a reservation and luckily we were able to get a table. The service was very good and the food was excellent. They had a great variety of whiskeys to choose from. I will definitely be returning.

Granted it was some time since this place was recommended to us so I guess things have changed. Firstly, it was very cold so not at all comfortable. We both had the Lossie haddock and have to say the batter was terrible. It was so hard and brittle. I thought £44.00 for one course each, one soft drink and one medium glass of wine was pretty steep for the quality we received. I would not return View menu

This charming pub offers delicious food. We visited between Christmas and New Year's and I suggest making a reservation to secure a table. The food was excellent, surpassing typical pub fare. They offer a small children's menu which is sufficient. The portion sizes are generous. The staff is friendly and attentive. They have a wide selection of whisky options. I would definitely recommend this place.

OK we went for a birthday lunch.4 of us.The menu was OK a bit limited to be honest. We had the Lossie haddock and the chicken .The fish was tasteless and the batter quite hard. The chicken was quite dry and the sauce was a bit inedible. The service was OK apart from forgetting a drink order because somebody at the bar was buying an expensive bottle of whisky... not really acceptable... We're not a fussy crowd but this was disappointing and cost well over £100 .

What a delightful abode situated in the quaint and peaceful town of arbelour! Brilliant service, friendly and attentive, smiles all round, never a time where anything was too much, the kind of service you really want on holiday! The selection of whisky was incredible and so much knowledge and good recommendations behind them! There cigar humidor and outdoor smoking lounge was delightful! Brilliantly priced cigars once again brilliant service. To Frankie/freddie all the team, thank you for a wonderful experience, great food great place great time was had! THOROUGHLY ENJOYED View menu

I have been here numerous times over the years and have recommended it to others but unfortunately the place is totally changed. This place used to attract all sorts, walkers, whisky enthusiasts, locals and passers by but now they are aiming for only those at the higher end of the market. This may work in the height of the tourist season, however as was seen when we were in, it was dead and had no atmosphere yet again the bar of a nearby hotel was full. The front of house manager was stuck up and looked down his nose at us in our walking gear a serious misjudge of character. I can see a change of management here.

Very welcoming pub feel, with standard quality beers, top world wine list, wonderful cigar offer with smoking area, and an excellent selection of whiskies. Too bad the shelves are not designed to show bottles labels (most of them lie behind other on the high shelf, big chance you’ll miss a few treats if you’re not helped by a member staff. Lucky me, I was able to chat with the very hospitable and friendly, Freddie. With a good knowledge of whisky and classy taste, his recommendations where spot on, and is service a true statement of hospitality. Highly appreciated and recommend spot if you’re in the area. Next time I’m around I’ll follow his suggestion and stay at the hotel above, seems just...

"Genuinely couldn't fault the experience. When I heard that the Drouthy had a new menu focusing more on a veggie and vegan base, I knew I had to give it a whirl. The starter of hot Smoked salmon with lemon creme fraiche and oatcakes was simple yet packed full of flavour. I could have easily have had 10 plates of that and been happy to give it 5 stars. My partner had the smoked duck and even though I have given up meat, I was salivating at the look of their dish. They assure me that it was as delicious as it looked. Served with lavender roasted potatoes (which I'm told were amazing and charred salsify. The mains were more than a match for the brilliant starters. If I could give one piece of advice, it would be get the beetroot risotto. Not being a massive fan of beetroot, I wasn't too sure about it. But the incredibly warm waiter (for my son's, I never got his name. I only hope he can forgive me if he reads this! assured me it was tasty. He was not wrong. Beautifully cooked vegan risotto with balsamic beetroot chunks, shiitake mushrooms and rocket, it was simply divine. WHEN I go back, I'll be hard pressed to go for anything else because it was so delicious. It was creamy, packed full of flavour and cooked absolutely perfectly. Just the right amount of bite, nowhere near being mush like you get in a lot of other places (who charge a lot more, by the way . Superb. The highest of compliments to the chef. I was so taken by my dish I forgot to ask how my partner's was until I had eaten all of mine. But their home made vegan tagliatelle had disappeared from the plate so it must have been amazing. I couldn't handle dessert so had a delicious ruby port (delaforce I think it was called , and I would also like to give credit to whoever came up with their wine list. It covered every single base and no-one could ever be disappointed. Finally, if you're ever in Elgin, please make sure this is one of your destinations. You will leave extremely happy."
