So I’m getting fed up of cooking a nice meal on a weekend, so I’ve bitten the bullet and started simply going out on my own locally. I don’t go in looking for friends to chat with. I walk in, get fed and looked after,...

Service terrible, I was not shown where to sit and had to ask how to order the menu did not arrive having asked for it. Only to be told, been told 30 mins later I had a 45-minute wait... then to find they were not taking orders. They lost my vote for somewhere different and served within 2 minutes

Stayed for 2 nights , the room was clean and comfortable. The breakfasts were very good and evening meals also very good. Staff and the owner were friendly and welcoming. We had 4 dogs between us and found it very dog friendly with lovely walks from the pub. When back in the area will definitely stay again. View menu

The food is not like it used to be. Cheaper cuts of meat etc. The service was okay but no one seemed like they wanted to be there, which is understandable as they were all young kids. I’m sure the last think they wanted was to work on a Saturday night. Management know this and usually only employ them to keep costs down. Shame really as we used to like it here.

Noisy ! service not good veg hard beans like rubber mash on the sloppy side but lamb Henry was nice my husband had steak and ale he said was nice for dessert we chose old school pie and custard pie ok but the custard barely tepid. Paid but not even a after dinner mint not the cheapest restaurant in the area but not the most expensive on the whole we were disappointed wont go back

Awful CBA approach. Waited half an hour of drinks and had to ask for them to take order...slow as ..was a wednesday night so not busy .. waitress on phone in corner... Food same CBA ... 14 quid for 8 button mushrooms in a Balti tray with overdone chunky chips .. supposed to be Stroganoff. Burger and chips with a ramekin of bought coleslaw (2 quid extra) .. we are v local try every six months to see if it has improved ... It hasn't. Disappointed. The garlic mushroom starter was not very appealing when it arrived. Unfortunately, my experience went downhill when I discovered a long, brunette hair between the mushroom and sourdough after a few bites. We informed the waitress, who apologized and offered to deduct both starters from the bill. Another staff member also apologized to us. The steak and ale pie and cheese and onion pie for mains were decent. Mr. had the Key lime pie for dessert, while I had a cappuccino that was tasteless even after adding an extra shot of coffee.

A family of 6 visited the restaurant and ordered 5 adult meals and a child's meal. Unfortunately, the service was slow with a 50-minute wait for the food to arrive. To make matters worse, one of the mains was forgotten, resulting in an additional 20-minute wait. The child's meal, which was supposed to be pasta with garlic bread, was served with pasta in a red sauce and a piece of white toast. When requesting more drinks, the staff said they would send someone over but forgot. Overall, the experience was disappointing and the family does not plan to return or recommend the restaurant. We stayed at the moorcock inn for 3 nights,in a twin room overlooking the car park some fields.firstly the room was very cosy,lovely beds plenty of bed linen even blankets if needed heating in room via radiator.the bathroom was small but met our needs,only mirror was a bathroom cabinet,but no problem in bathroom.in the bedroom however there is no mirrors,which I did tell Darren the owner that this needs addressing,cause us ladies like to see what we are doing, what our outfits look like,so hopefully he has listened to my comment.the staff are so friendly will go out of there way to help you with anything you want.we had breakfast for the 3 days we were there must say it was really nice,best...
