"had an amazing time in the old bookshop while visiting bristol. a great, blooming atmosphere as soon as they get off the road. if they can't get sitting, there are standing near the bar, which is a nice note loved the quirky artworks on the walls and pictures. I've always been a big fan of German beers above all weizenbier and that's a great place to come when that's your ding. one of the best selections in Britain I have seen. the jakob on the design was delicious, along with the usual German classics (see augustiner on the photos). all this was complemented by the delicious vegan tapas style dishes. I don't always eat vegan cuisine when I go, but I guarantee even carnivores would enjoy this hard. the staff was very friendly and the clientele was very pleasant. next time I'm back, I'll visit the old bookstore."

Pub with a wide range of cider and vegan food. Went for Sunday pie and it was amazing, took a meat eater who was blown away by the vegan food. Staff were really nice and the decoration was really quirky

I have all the love to book the old one! an amazing choice of beer is obviously a key feature. but great personal, great atmosphere, top tunes and incredible eating makes this definitely my favorite spots in bristol. View menu

Absolutely love this place. Amazing beer on an always changing menu, awesome vegan food at good prices. Plus they play 90s and 00s punk the whole time. This is the ultimate combo of things. And love the mezcal menu as a bit of novelty bonus.

We visited this restaurant before a rugby game and had a great experience. The staff were very friendly and helped us choose the perfect beer and drinks. The beer selection was excellent and my wife even said she had the best meal she's ever had.

We were on the fence about going out on a Monday night, but we are so glad we did. The bar staff was very friendly and recommended a delicious wine. The food was absolutely amazing, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I am looking forward to returning and will be bringing my sister along in a few weeks for another great meal. View menu

The restaurant offers an outstanding variety of German and Belgian beers, available both on tap and in their extensive bottle selection. The bar is bright and open with cozy corners, perfect for spending winter nights. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. This place is a truly unique and excellent addition to the Bristol beer scene.

Lovely pub with really good beer, and a nice vegetarian menu. The huge Mezcal menu was also a nice surprise! The only thing stopping me giving it 5 stars is that the punk music soundtrack can get a bit relentless after an hour or so, it would be nice if the owners mixed up the music a bit more. Have visited 5 or so times and the music is always the same, and sadly not my kind of thing.
