"We visited for Sunday lunch and really enjoyed the food and the attentive service as well as that it is dog friendly as well. My starter was the goats cheese salad, it was done very well and attractively presented with a mustard, honey balsamic dressing; which really delivered the sweet/salty and slightly acidic flavour that complemented the goats cheese. I followed this with the roast beef. The beef was wonderfully tender, rare-medium that I like, with plentiful gravy, root vegetables (parsnips and carrots), cauliflower cheese and roast potatoes. The potatoes were beautifully done, obviously cooked in lots of fat that made them wonderfully buttery on the inside but still crisp on the outside. My wife had the crab salad as a starter followed by the roast duck. She likes her duck well done, rather than rare, and commented that it was just right; being succulent and not allowed to go dry which can be the case when she has ordered this dish elsewhere. Clearly there is a talented chef at work here. My portions were a good size and the staff were attentive without being intrusive. We will certainly be coming back."

"This accommodation seemed like a nice country retreat when we booked. The welcome just covered that, with staff involved seeming to be rathe preoccupied. The room was cold and one might say 'dank ' as if we were the first to set foot in there this season [and it was June] It was stated in the booking that one had to provide ones own bed linnen and towels, there were towels and one of the beds was made up. The beds were 'well used ', so could have been better. There is wifi, but it 's so intermittent and weak [in the room] that in fact there is no wifi. The guest policy needs looking into as we were kept up one night by rowdy guests in a nearby room. we had to go and ask for coffee, tea and milk [provided] to fill up the supply, again the staff were 'very busy ' and 'things are stored away '. We did not use the pub facilities which seemed very nice and welcoming."

"First time in a pub after March 2020, but furst time ever here-it was really good! Everything is very well organized, the meal was good, nice beer Although if they would have Portuguese beer it would be even better ; , and great dessert. Thank you so much for trying your best to open the pub during these times Covid19 , after today I think I am going to check how the other pubs in Cambridge are, it's going to be difficult for them to keep up with you so well organized !!"

"We went for my 19th Birthday. I went to the restaurant a little early to check everything was ready. They sat me down so I could wait for everyone else to come. Before anyone had even came they brought out a birthday cake and left it on the table with light candles. This is a first for me as normally I would expect a cake to be brought out after the meal or at least when other people were their. As for the food It tasted like it was from Tesco 's however the food presentation was good but this did not make up for it tasting so bad. The Staff where okay however I felt they know that the food was bad as every time they asked us how it was they did so by running past the table not even wait for a response. Also I think this Indian restaurant had a identity confusion as they where playing Turkish music at times. you would really be better off grabbing a micro wave curry and putting some coriander on it."

"I've stayed in the accommodation at this site a few times for weeks at a time. The pub/inn itself is quite pleasant, and the staff are super friendly. The seating areas are clean and tidy, and it all feels quite homely, with a wood-burning stove glowing away (at least while I was there . I ate a few meals here, too and on all occasions, it was wonderful. The accommodation is pretty average; it certainly is not to my taste (or anyone I know, for that matter . The furniture/decor is what I would describe as tacky and low-quality (trying to be something it isn't . The rooms could do with a lick of paint and some more neutral decor; I would say the bathrooms look/feel dated, too. One of the rooms I stayed in had an electric shower, and the water pressure was very poor. Another room I stayed in (photos attached had a borderline useless over-bath shower, which wasn't practical and meant I either had to settle for a flooded floor or a shower curtain sticking to me. The shower head wasn't high enough (I'm only 176cm tall! and fell from the bracket a few times, making for a bad place to wash! Unfortunately, the rooms let the place down, as it could be much nicer if the decor weren't so distasteful and run down. Sadly, I have to say I won't be coming back and have booked a similar pub/inn nearby for my next trip to the area."
