"As someone else has mentioned we went with a groupon.... Location.. This pub is situated within a hotel on the westcliff in Bournemouth. The hotel (suncliff) is part of a chain of 3 hotels all next door to each other. Walking distance to Lansdowne and...plenty of paid car parking about. The pub... The pub itself is not like the rest of the hotel. They have tried to give it a rustic type feel which I believe they have done. When you walk in the bar is on the right with a pool table to the left. seating in straight ahead. The pub overlooks the coast. Drinks.... Basic selection but very expensive. The pepsi was off and was charged a pint tho the Mrs only had half (which manager refunded the difference when questioned). I had a pint of cider which was about £5.50 or something. Food... Very small selection of food and there was nothing special. Definitely not a romantic setting. Seemed quite pricey for what it was. We saw a kids portion of sausage and mash come out which looked like it came out the microwave. Staff... The staff seemed to struggle with English and was asking me and another customer to constantly repeat ourself. They seemed somewhat disconnected. Overall... We did not eat there as they had live sport blaring out in the main dining hall so refunded the groupon and will not be returning."

We stayed in the hotel so had dinner here. The menu was simple and nice (find on their website) the food was good compared to some hotels! If your staying at the hotel then this is a good place to eat if you don’t want...to go into town.

we came to this beautiful pub to enjoy a nice piece dug, but was greeted by badly boiled of chips and soggy cheese. I thought it would be better through the main course, I mean, who could go wrong a moment. it came, well represented. but when I began to eat it, the insert was tasteless and felt as if I were chewing on a car tire, the chips tasted raw and undercooked. even the salate was dry and bitter. bad bad bad. thank you, this place was posted on grouping for little to nothing money when I booked a taxi and went without saying a word. that's all! terrible food!

I decided to take advantage of eat out to help out' scheme here. Whilst the bar manager was courteous and professional I had to wait almost 40 minutes for the seafood platter (their most expensive item at £15+. On arrival I can only describe the...items on plate as of poor frozen variety deep fried, and slice of fish portion as just greasy batter-I should have just returned but had waited so long. Seafood; fresh or quality frozen is not always going to be great in a hotel pub but this was lazy poor quality that a short order cook could have improved on with reasonable ingredients. The chips were actually pretty good, and the draught lager also. What a shame as the venue is better than this s... View menu

after a reservation at the reception on the day before, they had no recording of us in the pub that was embarrassing, but we sat in the bright and comfortable winter garden. then we struggled to use our voucher (on the Suncliffe website) because the staff did not. on the inclusion. during the meal, we asked several workers for several items during our visit in the pub (extra side plate, soy sauce etc.) unfortunately, it seems a language barrier and never returned. but jordan has saved our experience. great customer service and professionalism. the personal should be trained by him. Thank you! the service was smooth, food proportions were small, but delicious! very recommended the camembert w...

As much as the location is beautiful, unfortunately the serving staff in the pub are not. Initially there was no parking available and when speaking with staff it was a first come first serve on parking which meant we had to pay. There was issues...with the seating at the beginning when turning up. In relation to the food it was okay...for pub food however, this could be a lot nicer. As for the table service, this was lacking hugely, the waitress payed no interest in us when servicing food. She did not even speak when we had said Thankyou for the food. Next we then had to ask for our starter plates to be removed from the table as she had walked off and left them there after serving the main...

"We had called-here for drinks during a previous visit to Bournemouth. We were impressed with the wine we drank, and the food that we saw served to other customers. So, today was the realisation of a promise that we made-to-ourselves to revisit and, this time, dine! We were a few-minutes early for our 19:30 reservation having allowed too-much time for our half-a-mile walk from our hotel. The restaurant was not busy, and there were scant customers during our 2½ hour stay. There was only one, very pleasant, member of staff in the bar/dining area. We had assumed he was the Manager, and he did everything: menus, drinks, food orders, food service, and payment. He did this pleasantly with good humour, plus impressive efficiency and knowledge. The food here is principally ‘Sharing Boards’ but also available were smaller (snack) servings of Artisan Cheese and Charcuterie and other “Nibbles”. We chose an ‘Ultimate Board’ (intended for two people sharing and costing £36.95 in total). Within this price you select four types of charcuterie plus four types of cheese to complete the board. Drinks: we started with a 175ml glass of “Martin Codax Albariño” for each of us. The extensive and impressive wine list offers a good selection available by the 175 or 250ml glass: 6 white wines, 3 rosé wines, 9 red wines, 3 sparkling wines and 9 aperitif/digestif wines. The Albariño was very much enjoyed, whist we decided which bottle of wine we would have with our meal. After much thought we chose a bottle of Bin 31 ‘Laibach (Sur Lie) Stellenbosch’; a white wine from what is a great wine-producing region in South Africa. This was superbly delicate and gently flavoured; with the very slight effervescence from the ‘Sur Lie’ fermentation method (fermentation on the lees). We know this method well from Sur Lie Muscadet wines, from the Sèvre-et-Maine region in France. With our wine chosen, we concentrated on the charcuterie and fromage that we would like with our ‘Ultimate Board’. There was much debate between us, but eventually: Our choices of charcuterie were: Salami Milano: with a perfumed scent that was such a delight. Pâté: quite fine but rich and flavoursome. Venison Salami: surprising and just superb. Smoked Pancetta: we loved this delicately smoked pork belly which was served in the thinnest slices imaginable. The cheese was far more difficult to choose: A Cheddar was a no-brainer and it was good; however we have ‘Vintage’ Cheddar at home (aged for 36-60 months); so the Cheddar here was a bit tame for our tastes. Oak Smoked Lincolnshire Poacher: this was very disappointing as half of the piece was totally inedible rind, and the rest was almost impossible to cut with the cheese-knife provided. I brought this to the attention of the Manager this was exchanged with more of the Cheddar. Northern Blue: good and creamy and appreciably tangy. We had another cheese which was firm and good eating, but we cannot recall it’s name (that’s our fail then). To be honest, and sadly, we found the cheese to be not anywhere as good as the charcuterie, we like mostly hard, or at least firm cheese, with strong flavours. Brie, Camembert and other soft cheeses rarely feature at our home (the somewhat explains our choices). The board was loaded with extra ingredients: a good selection of salad and fruit: cream cheese stuffed cherry tomatoes, lovely crunchy astringent cornichon, fresh grapes and pitted olives. There was also a pot of hummus, onion relish, cheese crackers, and a basket of bread (the latter of which we ordered a second). The meal was still a very favourable experience; made better by the extra cornichon provided. Just because I said how much I loved the texture and flavour of these wonderful ‘little gherkins’. After our board we were quite replete and there was no-way we could have managed a dessert, but an extra glass of Viognier for my Partner, and a wonderful 10-year-old Tawny Port for myself, finished-off the meal splendidly."

"WOW! What can we say!? Chris Katie catered lunch at our beautiful outdoor wedding at Moonacre, Sturminster Marshall. They had a fantastic layout and lots of menu options available several different burgers, wieners fries! They absolutely smashed the service and excelled at feeding a few more than expected too! They made us a gorgeous little personalised menu also which we thought was such a nice touch! Everyone couldn’t stop talking about how amazing their food was even those who would never normally consider vegan options were blown away at how great everything tasted! They managed to positively influence even the most stubborn meat eaters of our guests to realise that they don’t need to miss out on flavour when choosing vegan options! That’s a huge win in our eyes! A couple of people even said it was the first ever vegan food they’d tried and they couldn’t get over how amazing it was! We told our guests about the Mighty Wieners restaurant in Bournemouth and will be bringing people back for more as they couldn’t wait to try more options! The day was such a huge success and Chris Katie did such an incredible job! We can’t recommend them enough, for food at their restaurant and wedding events catering! Vegetarian options: Excellent vegetarian and vegan options! Dietary restrictions: Served gluten free options! Kid friendliness: Excellent service friendly, warm and when above and beyond! Wheelchair accessibility: Perfect for full accessibility!"
