"Edit,...In fairness I should say since posting this review in Oct 20, I understand it has changed owners, I only hope for their sake they haven't retained the cook or bar staff. As we couldn't get out for our anniversary due to lockdown, we opted for a take out from the Packhorse. I never thought I'd say this because I didn't think it possible but I've had better meals in a Hungry Horse for less than half the price. Despite being ordered for a specific time it certainly wasn't freshly cooked, chicken was smothered in bbq sauce which killed the taste of everything else, the chips were either left over from lunchtime or maybe the day before. I won't be back but won't be missed as I haven't been there for twenty years."

we had a nice meal, well cooked service very well. not much to choose, but understandable as not many employees. my man had served the burger first on a wooden board. but we asked a plate that was made available, I had the lamb hot pot that was delicious. then finished with apple caramel cake, with custard. and a cup of tea. just a few suggestions. tee better served in a teekanne does not serve a tee bag buried in the cup. also the sweet one needed more custard and warm up. the service was otherwise excellent.

a sweet little pub. I had my disabled daughter with me, which I got in most huts. this was easily accessible directly into the bar area where we could eat. we went on a Sunday, so we had a Sunday lunch menu, which was perfect for us and they also had meat free options. the food was delicious and was eaten all, my only critique was the roasted pasnips needed longer in many, but not the less I ate them than they tastefully his just personal preference. it was a wet day, so felt very cozy inside and perfect to finish our day before we went to the house. we will definitely give them another visit.
