"We we’re visiting Family today in Sleaford and it was also my mum’s 92nd birthday. My sister in law had booked the Plough as a treat for all of us and what a treat it was. We weren’t going to have 3 courses but the menu, the lovely smell of food cooking and the ambiance of the place tempted us. The food was lovely, well presented snd absolutely delicious. We had the white bait and Burrata and tomato salad, the beef cheeks bourgnigon, Roast chicken and chorizo risotto, the fish stew finished with the chocolate tart, tiramisu and the panacotta. Phew!! My elderly mum struggles to eat lots of foods now but they tweaked her choice and made suggestions so that she could enjoy her lunch. They even put a sparkler in her dessert for her birthday. I’m told it can be difficult to get a table and I’m not surprised!!"

Great friendly welcome and good service throughout. Excellent menu, with prices on the higher side of average but with higher quality food as well. Wine list is good with decent prices. We will return.

I received a fantastic recommendation from a friend to try this pub and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations. The food was excellent, the service was lovely, and the atmosphere was very relaxing.

After a long journey, we walked along from our accommodation and chanced our luck to get a table for dinner. It was fully booked but Sarah went above and beyond to make space for us. We all had something different off the menu and none of us were disappointed. Absolutely delicious! Pity we’re only here for a short time as would love to taste more dishes off the menu. Lovely atmosphere, service and food. What’s not to like.

We arrived thinking we had a reservation for 4 o'clock, only to realize we had booked the wrong restaurant. The owner, Sarah, was incredibly accommodating and managed to squeeze us in. We were thrilled she did, as we had been wanting to try The Plough for a while based on recommendations. The Sunday lunch was fantastic. Every dish exceeded our expectations. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was relaxed, and the service was top-notch. We're looking forward to returning.

I recently dined at this charming village pub in the picturesque village of Wilsford for the first time. We enjoyed a delightful autumn lunch, starting with tender beef cheek and ending with a delectable sticky toffee pudding. The butterscotch sauce was particularly outstanding, the best I've ever had. Sarah provided excellent and friendly service. The pub is on the smaller side and tends to get busy, so I suggest making a reservation ahead of time. Overall, a truly delightful experience! Thankyou Thankyou Thankyou Sarah and Paul. We visited for our 50th Wedding anniversary on the 2nd of September. The Plough delivered Gold. 22 and a half (sorry Annie) sat down to superb lunch, choices of starter, one main, choices of desert, cake and superb champagne. The attention was what we now expect from Sarah and Paul, unrivalled, unpretentious and faultless. The only downside is that it is 50 miles too far west. The people of Grantham and Sleaford should be so grateful they have the plough on their doorstep. Value for money? I don't know how they do it. Keep up the good work we all love it. Giles and Irene

we were looking for a land pub on the way to visit home from our daughter at university and found the plough. we had a very warm reception of sarah and paul. there were two excellent ales in the offer as well as a series of lagers, more so on. We chose the salmon and the pate as appetizers and both were excellent, and then both had the roast beef. it was nicely boiled and came with amazing cauliflower cheese and roasted vegetables. we had hardly any space for the gloomy, so we also shared some profiterole that were also excellent. I couldn't owe it. Apparently, the owners hadn't had the space long, but clearly they hit the floor running. I hope we'll get back in when we're in the opposite.

"We choose this spot because of the many positive reviews. I guess we turned up on a bad day!I have only been introduced to coffee a few years ago despite being in my mid 50’s and really don’t like coffee unless a well made flat white. I travel the world frequently for work and always ask the same question, can you make a flat white? The reason being unless the person is a passionate barista I rarely get a coffee I enjoy. This question clearly upset the lady serving us who ‘rolled her eyes out loud’ by the question and then represented the request to her colleague in a manner that was more like ‘we have a pain in the arse’ than ‘can we make this gentleman a nice coffee. (Yes we overheard).Everything was fine except the flat white was a milky coffee and not something I enjoyed. Not a problem though. I never said a word but when asked at the counter how things were I thought I would say everything was good except the ‘flat white’. Immediately confronted by both in very hostile way was very surprising as I was only answering a question I thought they were interested in hearing I placed a review on their website and their response is a really good example of their attitude. Instead of focusing on service recovery they wanted to blame me and absolve themselves of any responsibility.I of course mentioned this to a few people in Sleaford and surprise surprise was met with very similar responses, ‘we don’t go there anymore as the staff can be very rude’ Looking forward to seeing how the proprietors decide to respond to this one."
