"My son took me out for a pre-booked meal at 4pm today to celebrate my 84th birthday. I was totally disappointed. Although the pub was empty we were asked to sit at a table near to the door and next to a family with 2 small children. (I have no problem at all with the children having several children and grandchildren of my own. The table was sticky! We were told we would have to wait a while as the chef was still on his way! The food wasn't good at all and I left half of my meal, as did my son. It spoilt my birthday and we will not be recommending or returning again. Extreme disappointing."

nice lunch, courtesy friendly staff and excellent real ale. social interieur, large parking on the back. sitting area outdoors if we ever get sunshine. the journey worth it.

Excellent experience! I had lunch on Friday at a beautiful country inn. The staff managed the COVID protocols with a professional and friendly demeanor. It was refreshing to see the establishment open and welcoming. Highly recommend!

We just spent a few days here, and David and his team were absolutely wonderful. The warm welcome made us feel right at home. The beer was well-kept, and the food was top-notch. The restrooms were also clean and well-maintained. I highly recommend visiting and supporting this pub; we need more traditional pubs like it!

We’re up here for the week from the sunny Sussex coast and had an absolutely brilliant meal. Highly recommend the Surf n Turf and the Steak and Ale pie. The Sticky Toffee Pudding is to die for. We were a party of nine for Christmas Lunch today and it was delicious, everything was cooked to perfection and piping hot. We were all made to feel so very welcome and nothing was to much trouble. The new owner is certainly making a considerable effort to make a go of it and we strongly recommend you give it a try.We will definitely return. Many thanks!!!
