Had a great meal here tonight. We chose ribeye steak, haddock and chips and gnocchi and all were delicious. Really friendly atmosphere and great service.

This was not a pleasant experience. The service was lacking, the lighting was dim due to broken lights, and the fish and chips were greasy. Additionally, the peas were hard like bullets and the fish batter was tough. Overall, it was a disappointing meal. View menu

We were there as a family on Thursday evening and had dinner best burger I have had in a long time! New management so I think it’s a learning curve but new chef and new menu and basically a great village pub with great potential just needs some customers!

We came to the Plough following my father’s funeral at Cam Valley Crematorium which is just up the road. The day hadn’t been easy, but the welcome, food and drinks at the Plough were faultless. I gather that the pub is under new management and I can see from other reviews that there have been teething problems but I think that it has all come together. We’ll be back under happier circumstances but the place is hugely recommended

Under new management and they’re doing a great job. Fantastically accommodating for an early Sunday lunch booked at the last minute. Great service, delicious roast beef and offered extra roast potatoes and vegetables which is such a great gesture and will never be unappreciated. Really good value and lovely ambience. Only suggestion is perhaps serve main courses on larger plates to accommodate the ample portions. Excellent, keep up the good work. View menu

Notwithstanding that there were plenty of happy customers here we felt we'd walked into the wrong place. Yunno it's never my fault that I've arrived without a booking and I am deserving of blame for a pub being unable to cope or offer as much as a sandwich instead. I felt this new place was a place learning to be a pub eg a bit of a shambles behind the bar; make it up as we go; an untrained person serving a complicated drink like shandy; and the wrong person on the front of house blaming people.

My family held a wake here for 100 people. We researched local venues and picked this one. I’m glad we did. The manager Sam was friendly, professional and respectful from the first meeting, consultation and during the event. Everything we discussed, he delivered on, from providing a TV to show a slideshow of photos, the great variety of food to suit all palettes and the amazing cakes. The staff were extremely efficient and non-intrusive. The plough had plenty of parking and space inside the pub for the amount of people present. Thank you Sam to you and your staff for making a hard day that bit easier.

We were travelling back from Stansted and had been here once before when it was heaving and the food was great. Today was a different experience. We were aware that this had new management so wasn’t expecting the same but due to this you would expect their standards to be higher if they want to gain or keep customers. We arrived for opening today at 12pm looking for food. They had just opened 15 mins earlier so why would the toilet have 5 or 6 empty toilet rolls and rubbish on the shelf and on the floor with a dirty marked mirror as you walk in?
