"This was a great local pub with decent beer and happy staff but things change. Its still OK with a decent selection of beer (try the jaipur but don't drive after) but it's definitly dead midweek, despite the great weather. On our recent visit with two friends we were the only people there at around 7:30 and by 9:30 when we left there were two people in the pub. Probably a sign of the times Things are looking up. Called for a quiet pint late Friday afternoon and found the pub much busier than previous visit, not packed but generally busy. Beer selection remains good but no food Rumour has it that the food was good but the pub doesnt appear to serve food anymore. The great Indian restaurant above the pub with beer from the pub remains and is worth a visit. Called on a Saturday night to pick up a curry from queen spice restaurant, above the pub. We were there about an hour and initially the pub was very busy, probably due to the sport on TV, but got quieter as we left, still plenty of people though. Still no food being served, but the beer remains very good"

Popped in for a beer whilst on a walk. Had a pint of Joseph Bolt best bitter from the cask which was alright. Friendly staff and plenty of places to sit outside and enjoy the sun.

Err, it's not in the country. It has NO parking despite advertising as such....and the rooms are, apparently 2 flights up. We walked out and booked somewhere else as it was totally inadequate and not as advertised.

I visited for drinks last Saturday and was impressed with the great selection of beers and the friendly service. The entertainment, a soul band called Northside Soul Brothers, was excellent - very musical and not too loud. I have also dined upstairs before and can highly recommend the curry restaurant.

Rooms very nice. Website states Sarah’s kitchen !!! Incorrect false advertising. !!! Only food is an Indian restaurant. Not happy with trying to get a refund for my second night! Owner is constantly in meetings and unavailable! Disgraceful hospitality by the owner! DO NOT BOOK THUS PLACE SAVE YOUR MONEY View menu

We had booked an overnight stay hoping to have an evening meal, however food was not being served as the kitchen was being updated. The lady serving at the bar and the manager were extremely helpful in helping us source a local takeaway to deliver to the pub! They couldn't have been more helpful. Our room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. We had an excellent breakfast with plenty of choice.

Service was awful. My partners food arrived and was stone cold, when asking for it to be heated up or replaced the waitress was rude. The replacement arrived and the fish was watery, on top of this my own food didn’t arrive until 15/20 minutes later by which time my partner had already finished. The sides that we ordered did not arrive so we got our money back for these instead. Would not recommend unless you enjoy waiting an hour for sub par food and service.

Awful experience here came for some drinks and lunch. Lunch took around an hour to come out and during this we was not informed with why it was taking so long and we also wasn’t apologised to. It did seem like they was not bothered. This is all happened whilst the pub being less than half empty. There was also other people complaining. Food was ok but bland and overcooked. When we went to pay the bill at the end there was no apology from them. My advice is if u can’t handle a service shut the kitchen. Down and don’t do food as it’s clear they are not capable of running a food service. View menu

Awful. We waited 55 minutes for a chicken burger, a fish and chips and 2 starters. They didn’t apologise or give us any updates on why it was taking so long. The place was half empty too so no obvious reason as to why they would take so long. We were seated close to the bar so we could hear how 2 other tables went to complain too. One of them was “lucky” and got a discount as they had been waiting for even longer than us. Once we were finally served we asked if we could have some ketchup and mayo. The waitress forgot about it so we had to once again approach the bar and ask for it. Food was okay. A bit dry.

AVOID! Stayed in Bulls head and booked breakfast at 9am in this place. Turned up in the morning the young grumpy lady said we should be in at 8.30am. Apparently she was not happy us making her work overtime but clearly that’s their own faults in communication with their colleagues from the sister company. Then she kept ignoring us while she was the only servant in the room. In the end we just gave up since it was simply disrespectful and we felt unwelcome by this place. To the little angel If you don’t know how to treat customers with respect and kindness, do everyone a little favour by just quitting the job rather than ruining the reputation of your local business. Certainly don’t recommend...
