"Stopped here on route from Worcester to North Wales and what a find! Went in with out a reservation and it was no problem, lovely menu, hard to choose what to get. Went for the Beef Brisket with Horseradish Mash and Buttered Greens and Gravy and oh my! Beef was melt in the mouth and proper mash and veg that was perfectly cooked. My husband went for the curry and had it extra spicy and it sure was that. It came half and half with chips and rice and a basket of Naan. My daughter had the mac and cheese with Garlic Bread and for the 1st time the meal came out the perfect temperature for her to eat straight away! The staff were all lovely. I would definitely come back again if we were passing this way. 5 stars from me."

The food and service at this restaurant were excellent. I would definitely come back here again. The restaurant was very clean and the beer was also good.

Very warm welcome, lovely staff, great food , would recommend the steak and ale pie. Was lovely to find out they even have ginger beer and elderflower presse.

Outstanding. We have visited before and consider it to be one of the best dining options near Welshpool. The food is top-notch and the service is excellent. We highly recommend it. View menu

Staff really friendly even though they were very busy. Wide choice of food. We shared dishes from nibbles and then mains. All food served nice and hot and all dishes excellent. Loved the goats cheese pizza to eat whilst waiting for mains of carbonara and a brisket dish. So tasty , not over salty. Would definitely return to sample quality food in nice atmosphere.

Well, what can I say? A perfect place to eat excellent food and drink, excellent service, excellent friendly staff, can't fault it! Ignore all the previous nasty reviews! This is definitely a place I would recommend, whether for lunch or dinner. A big special thank you to all the staff in particular, one waitress, Izzy for making our meal so special. We'll definitely be back again! A

My family and I planned a long overdue get-together at this restaurant. We made a reservation well in advance, but upon arriving and ordering our meals, we had to wait much longer than we would have liked. When our food finally arrived, it was not hot as we had hoped. The prices were not cheap either. Overall, we were disappointed with our experience and would not recommend this restaurant. We do not plan on returning. View menu

We have been here several times but not recently and decided to go for dinner. My husband had a burger which was so dry it was hardly edible and 5 chips. The salad looked like it had been recycled. I had the prawn salad which was tiny and had half a tomato and 3 pieces of cucumber a bit of carrot onion and lettuce. Both cost Β£15 and value for money is non existent. I would definitely not recommend and we will not be going back.

We used to visit the Queens Head a lot. However now since covid it has become ridiculously expensive. It’s no longer a place to drop in for a snack or early dinner as the prices put it into a different league, more on a par with upmarket bespoke dining facilities. Sadly the food whilst good is certainly not up to that standard.. We still go but not once or twice a week but more once every 6 to 8 weeks for special occasions. When we have been recently the place has been virtually empty. Sad really as I am sure with more reasonable pricing the place would do much better.

"Beautifull hotel, I guess one can call it trendy , but I just don 't understand how they can justify the price Β£130/night and that most of the time will go to Β£160 as they run out of entry level ones. So I guess the answer is there because people pay for it! But let 's just make some relevant comparisons Birmingham Grand literally in the heart of the city, brand new, 5* hotel, with all recently decorated rooms to the highest standard is Β£135 15 for breakfast. Needless to say rooms are air conditioned, fully equipped and genuinelly very posh. Hotel has lifts, has porters and the service is top notch. The Lion is barelly 4* just for trendiness alone, but the actual quality of furnishing is closer to 3*, has no lift and you will be lugging your bags up and down mutiple flights of stairs (and I mean multiple like 8 going up and down) trought narrow corridors to mediocre room (nothing wrong with it just mediocre) which isn 't even air conditioned. Sorry, I just don 't get it. That said restaurant is good fully fine dining if you are into it. Althought in my oppinion it doesn 't fit into the rest of the hotel. So it is ~3.5* hotel which is very youghtfull and trendy and then you get 5* fine dining with very tiny portions for the dinner (which is not criticism of restaurant, it is very good on it 's own). In conclussion I just don 't get what niche this hotel is filling, who stays there and why. The price for the rooms should be Β£75 95 tops. Shreesbury is not exactly prime tourists destination either (at least shouldn 't). But it seems it is working out for them, I just would not recommend it, I would not stay in it again and it is definatelly not worth the price. Neither in isolation, nor in comparison."
