"Food 4/5 ordered steak and chips. Got a very big portion which was fantastic. Steak was undercooked but edible and otherwise tasty. Chips were very crispy Price 5/5 for the big portions the price was great Atmosphere 4/5 atmosphere was great but the pub dog kept weaving in and out underneath the table and going up to each person looking for food. As cute as the dog is, it was a bit uncomfortable especially if one isn't a dog person. Service 5/5 Very efficient and friendly staff Overall 4.2/5 great place for lunch. Maybe avoid if you don't like being pestered by a dog whilst you're eating!"

Stopped here for dinner after a wet day at Longleat. Friendly welcome, really good pub food, my son said the best he has ever had (ham, egg and chips)! Really lovely local pub.

A fantastic pub with a lovely beer garden, and a lovely dessert menu! Perfectly placed for anyone walking the Wessex Ridgeway or Imber Perimeter Path as well, making it a great place to stop in. View menu

Seven of us just had an excellent lunch here. Very good food with a wide menu, and a very decent bottle of wine. But above all was the lovely friendly atmosphere helped by a charming couple in charge. It's everything a good pub should be.

A lovely quaint little pub with very friendly atmosphere and staff. The food was delicious and very good portions, very filling. The steak and ale pie, was high quality. It was basically a steak in pastry. To top it all off, they had a very friendly doggo that greeted us at the door, very calmly I'll add, and it also visited us a few times over our short stay. The staff seemed to care more about the dogs health than my brief bond with it though so I wasn't allowed to give it a piece of pie

"We stayed here ten years ago and thought it was wonderful and worth every penny. We were so excited to return, but really Disapointed. The grounds are lovely and we were pleased with our room. The children loved the outdoor space and the pool What really let us down was the food and service. There was no luxury here. The family dining choices were poor. The children's meal was bad one had fish gougons and sweet potato fries which were very salty. The other two had pizza, the small was served as half a pizza, the large was a conventional round shape. Both were shop bought bases (cardboard) with grated Cheddar on the top. Something I would not feed them at home let alone expect in a supposedly high end dining. My husband's steak was chewy. My main, whole plaice with creamed potatoes, the potato was served in a ceramic dish and it was cold. It was taken away and then took ten minutes to return by which point I had eaten the fish. The food was incredibly expensive considering how poor the offerings were. The next day we ate a very late lunch in Bath so we would not have to eat at the hotel. The breakfast buffet area had some nice items but was really understocked and allowed to run to empty. The staff functioned but not at a steady rate, we found the service slow and the staff disinterested. Such a contrast to our previous visit. The person in charge we found sullen and felt as if our presence was an inconvenience. When we walked through to the dining areas we would hop out of the staff'so way for fear of being bulldozed. When we left the receptionist was polite but did not ask if we enjoyed our stay. A week later I had an email to complete a survey and nobody got in touch despite the same feedback as given here. Very dispointing. Lovely room and surroundings but poor food and poor attitude from staff. Last year we stayed in a hotel that cost 65% less than Wooley Grange and had a much better experience."
