"we have been at the red lion for many years and have always enjoyed our meal. we went on Saturday afternoon and were really surprised that usually very busy, there were only a few in the entire restaurant. when we saw the new menu, we understood why. the price of the meal had increased a lot and the choice of the food had stopped! I am an insulin-dependent diabetic and there was only one thing suitable on the menu (i.e. low carbohydrate) it was a chicken dish that I had minus, (because of the carbohydrates) the sosse, roasted vegetables and chips, but I replaced this with an salate. I often had a beautiful salat on red lions, but this time it consisted of a lot of rocket, a few thin slices of rettich, small cherry tomato and red bevel, not what I would call a good salat. a very unsatisfactory meal. I left the restaurant hunger, the prices have much more expensive, there were no fish except a very expensive sole, and only a steak a sirloin at!! everything in all we could understand why the restaurant was so empty on a Saturday afternoon! I doubt that we will come back until a diabetic friendly and reasonable menu is used."

Popped in for a few light bites today. They were absolutely amazing in quality and presentation. The Enville wasn't too shabby either!!!

Has changed ownership but not the chef. Food was varied, delicious and reasonably priced. Staff were very good, everywhere was well kept and clean, and the food served piping hot and well presented.

Went for a family meal, the food was amazing, as was the service, nothing was too much trouble for the staff. The food was piping hot. We had children in our party and they were considered as much as the adults. By far the best...food for miles. Atmosphere wonderful too. All in all a superb meal.

a fabulous family-run pub, hotel and restaurant. an incredibly warm welcome, a wonderful quiet room with excellent en-suite shower and wc, a good selection of beers and the piece de resistances is eating! everything I can say is wow! is a wonderfully varied and delicious menu. the food is cooked to perfection and the service is error-free. a fabulous place to stay, eat, drink or (as in my case) all three.

we have always enjoyed our visits in red lions, but have really impressed with the quality, taste and the delicious food offered lately. it is so refreshing to find a local independent pub that serves really good food and so it is worth an additional pastness at the chain microwave restaurants. today's bratbeef and chicken mkalope were so delicious, children also enjoyed their meal. we are looking forward to our next visit!

Beware . The menu on the website is totally different to the one in the pub. We were very disappointed with the choices. Only one steak and very expensive, no gammon or chicken dishes which would be expected in a pub menu. The chips are...very thin fries like Mc Donald’s but not as good. The sweets again are limited and expensive. I questioned this with the manager who said . Yes it is a reduced menu due to COVID. Rubbish. Bernard glaze.

"Been wanting to come here for a very long time after driving/walking past it, and my partner has wanted to come here since she’s moved here. Hand sanitizer upon arrival with track trace check in code. All the staff are very welcoming, friendly, helpful and all very masks. The lady we had who served us throughout our time (apologise I forgot her name began with A I think), she couldn’t have been anymore helpful. With a very wide range of food, she told us everything on the menu was very nice as she has tried everything! The decor of the restaurant is what I’d expect in a typical Italian restaurant, very rustic and has a feel of being in Italy. To start I had the belly pork with Jack Daniels sauce, I’ve never tried belly pork and it was so tasty and very tender. My other half had the goats cheese in filo pastry which was also very nice. For mains, I had the Risotto con salsiccia (spicy sausage, peppers, onions, garlic, tomato and chilli). It was so nice I’m glad it was a big portion as I wanted more! I don’t think the sausage was spicy but overall I was very impressed. Other half had a cheese chicken mushroom calzone which was also nice. We had a nice bottle of white wine which absolutely complimented the whole meal. For dessert I had sorbet and other half had a deep fried cannoli once again both really nice. Reasonable priced meal for two people, and very highly recommended. Plenty parking and we will be back soon with our family. Very authentic home cooked Italian food and Cafe Casita is way better than some of these chain restaurants!!"
