"beautiful sunny day I would cut the grass and then go to lunch in the local village pub. we arrived and sat at a table in the bar where dogs are welcome. I ordered a few drinks and then chose our dinner. the menu card on the table only to say when the meals are ordered at the bar that the sunday' menu had ended with something disappointed that we did not go to lunch roast beef, I asked for the normal/daily menu and was even more disappointed that this menu did not begin until baguettes were the only offer! outside the splash' is a large board advertisement that the pub is open every day and there is no mention on the menu that the service ends at any given time. I will visit the queens head at the end of the village next week."

Just had a lovely lunch with my parents, everything we ordered was delicious! Staff were all patient with my elderly father. We will definitely be back.

The menu, atmosphere, and service at this restaurant were all poor. We were not asked for our preferences, even though there were many employees working. The food was below average and the presentation was lacking. We did not voice our complaints, but we do not plan on returning.

Had a lovely stay at The Splash. Great food brilliant Christmas atmosphere with a roaring log fire and twinkling lights. Lovely spacious comfortable room with plenty of tea coffee etc. The staff are all friendly and helpful from the bar to the lovely lady who...cooks and serves breakfast. We will definitely be back.

we were recommended to eat here so away, we went the pub is nice and the staff was pleasant enough, my man ordered lasagne and said it was nice and could not fail it, I was not excessively hungry so ordered a starter and a bowling chips, I ordered numb boobs, but was said that was not available, so went for pils pils pils buds, it was so disappointed. Myself and two best friends were staying nearby in a log cabin. Walking along the stream we stumbled upon this gorgeous looking pub we decided upon a coffee to warm us up. The owner was so friendly and proceeded to give us a guided...tour of all the Christmas decor. An amazing open fire dogs with owners and toddlers tottering around a real family feel about the place. Couldn’t love it more and highly recommend x

once again another first CLASS experience at splash! the conservatory restaurant is now still beautifully presented without the Christmas decoration. the eating staff and service was again error-free! for my last dez. and this is our second trip this year for Sunday lunch. this place is not wrong. I took my mother for the first time today, and they have perfectly taken care of her smaller appetit. we look forward to our next visit and stop. thank you.

We visited this restaurant twice during our stay in the area and on both occasions the food was excellent - catering well to both my carnivorous taste and my wife's vegetarian preferences. The ales were well-maintained and reasonably priced. Since we were accompanied by our dogs, we dined in the bar area where the staff and other patrons were all very friendly. We will definitely come back when we are in the area again. One unique feature is that you have to drive through a small stream (splash) to access the car park. View menu

We visited on Saturday lunch time for my Mums birthday. We had a stroll through the small village, which was very nice. We had a drink in the bar area, which was nice in front of the open fire. We were then taken through to...the restaurant. The menu was very good, and reasonably priced. All our meals were piping hot, good portion sizes. The food was excellent. Highly recommend!! The only issue we had was the oldish man behind the bar, is very abrupt with no customer service skills. He requires a course in customer service. So beware !!

My family and I visited this restaurant for Sunday lunch to celebrate my daughter's birthday with a party of four. The staff were incredibly attentive and accommodating. Despite being very busy, they graciously moved us to a larger table when we requested to add two more people to our booking. The food was delicious and the service was top-notch. It had been many years since my last visit, but I was thoroughly impressed. The restaurant and bar had a warm and inviting atmosphere, complete with a cozy log fire and festive decorations. The manager, who I assumed was in charge, was very friendly and even treated my daughter to a complimentary drink for her special day. Kudos to The Splash - we w...

"Booked stayed at this place very recently having read the excellent reviews. As a very level headed person, certainly not delusional I failed in trying to recognise or match the place based on any of the reviews posted on Booking.com The place, whilst very quaint appealing from the outside is in direct contrast to the inside! In reality, it 's very much in dire need of deep cleaning, redecorating and refurbishing. The food, not sure who prepared the meals in the reviews I read, but fail to see how it could be the same chef as the one that cooked ours! Our meals arrived no less than 40 minutes after ordering. The drinks to occupy us while we waited never did arrive when our meals finally arrived served (if slapping on the table warrants being called served three out of the five items that made up the meal were uncooked, cold unedible! The excuse given by the waitress, is far too busy and understaffed, yet despite not being able to fulfil the job paid for, they still take fee paying guests who are treated far less than second class citizens to the regular clientele supping at the bar! Far too busy but not enough to stop them from taking longer than necessary to laugh talking to the regulars! Needless to say, we ate at other places for the rest of our stay. DO NOT BE FOOLED, as we were by the reviews, which have stayed are extremely questionable indeed! If one is used to using hostels I can see this could be deemed as good, if not excellent accommodation. On the flip side, if one is used to hotels that are clean customer focused then this hotel (a grand name for nothing more than a public house with accommodation not a very good or pleasant one at that is not the one for you!!"
