"only returned from a fantastic Sunday dinner here. we ordered the frying meat and the frying pig. I chose this pub consciously as they sat on their website that they serve the bark pink and rarely and I was not disappointed! the bark was sensational and the veg and the trims were perfectly cooked. it came with cauliflower cheese, a green cabbage and a red cabbage, with carrots, carrots and a huge yorkshire pudding. had to ask for a second crimson, as parts were small, but it quickly arrived. without doubt one of the best Brat-Rind dinners I ever had! the cracking that came with the pork was incredibly small, and more of a fiber band, but still very tasty. probably better for the waist on this wise, but would have been nice if this were a bit bigger. all in all great congratulations to the cook and also the servier staff, which was very pleasant. in short, the saracen’s head is an absolute cracker of a gastropub, can not wait to rehearse more!"

Nice pub and friendly staff. Really good food and a popular place as well. Worth booking if you want to come here for food as it does get busy. Village is beautiful as well. Highly recommended.

Fantastic pit stop! We stopped for lunch to break a long journey. The service was attentive but not fussy and the food was delectable. Such a lovely setting. Fantastic menu for all the family. Dogs warmly welcomed. This was a real hit across the board.

Stopped for a swift refresher on a dog walk. £14.50 for a pint and warm white wine. Were told the fridges were doing their best. Not even a particularly hot Monday evening. No offer of a refund or alternative. Next time will keep walking to Althorp Coaching Inn.

Fantastic little pub, we were so impressed with our dinner we decided to come back a few days later and check out the lunch menu! Would recommend, it's dog friendly. The only thing I would like to see is a cocktail offer or themed nights (steak bottle of wine) which would make it even nicer.

I love this place brilliant atmosphere and always a good meal. Good quality eating and good presentation of food. the employees are friendly and very knowledgeable about eating on the menu. This place is also a jewel when they are gluten-free they even do gluten-free burgers and fish and chips. in any case northampton’s top restaurants in my opinion

Our first experience of The Saracens Head and we couldn't have asked for a better! From start to finish we loved it. Service was fantastic. The staff were perfectly attentive and friendly. Food was absolutely delicious. The garden area looked great and the interior decor of the restaurant was cosy and stylish. We will most certainly return very soon. Highly recommend!

table for six. one of us has a heavy alcohol allergy. Contact us warmly welcome friendly staff. as an allergic I got a personalized menu where the cook was sitting earlier on the day and highlighted the dishes I could have. that led to an adjustment of teigs and sauces and literally personalization of my menu. hands down one of the best experiences I ever had with my allergy. to complete it from the food, was even better than the service. can not recommend it very much.

We had a nice time at this pub for dinner, it's a nice old pub in a nice quiet village. The drinks prices were good, however I found the main courses slightly overpriced. The food was good generally, and I would go back here again if I was in the area. The service was good and the range of items on the menu were good. I had the Pigeon starter which was tasty and unique, and then the Italian burger which was tasty with its gorgonzola and also the burger buns were tasty and fresh. The fries were also good.

"I wondered why this restaurant described itself on the board outside as ‘fusion’, why there were so many Korean dishes on the menu and why the serving staff have heard of Asahi beer but haven’t heard of The Asahi Shimbun, a Japanese daily newspaper that is at least 50 years old. The answer is that the Akasaka website isn’t being completely honest when it describes their Northampton branch as a Japanese restaurant. They aren’t really Japanese, although some of their menu items are clearly Japanese. Don’t let that put you off, however, as they are serving excellent food and we enjoyed our meal there very much. It cost us about £70 (inc. 10% tip) for our meal for two people including a 175ml glass of Sauvignon Blanc for my lovely wife and two 330ml bottles of Asahi Dry for me. The sushi was excellent, the edamame beans were great but we didn’t feel that the Dolsot Bibimbap (a Korean dish with loads of rice, some shredded vegetables, prawns and a fried egg on top) offered very good value for money at just under sixteen pounds. We would recommend Akasaka in Northampton and would certainly go there again, but if we want a genuinely Japanese meal, prepared and served by Japanese staff, then we will be sticking to Ginza Restaurant on Wellingborough Road in Northampton. Don’t like the way that the male members of staff at Sakura on Bridge Street speak to their female colleagues, very disrespectful, so we avoid that Japanese restaurant nowadays. Great to have a choice of three Japanese restaurants in Northampton post-pandemic, and our favourite of the three is Ginza."
