"Initially we had decided to go to a pub opposite the sawyer arms. We walked in we walked out! The music was ear busting to the point of ridiculous! Do we crossed the road to the sawyer arms read the menu on the wall and went in. Unfortunately their were no tables available on the ground floor so we climbed the stairs to the first floor and managed to get a table. Note the stairs are not easy if you have mobility issues. I did manage it on a walking stick JUST! The menu is standard British pub grub, and their should be something for everyone. Burgers, chicken, salmon, pork belly, pies etc. and all at what I consider reasonable price for London. I had the steak and ale pie, and I have to say the gravy was one of the best ever. Definitely gert lush! My companion had the fish and chips and was happy with his choice. Drink prices reasonable. Would I eat here again if on Paddington area? Oh yes definitely !!! And after a meal here pop down the road to another pub for a pint with an airline theme !"

The food and atmosphere at this restaurant were fantastic. It is located in a popular area of London and I thoroughly enjoyed my delicious meal.

We tried The Sawyers Arms' special of Beer-marinated Halibut with triple-cooked chips. The fish tasted old and the chips were barely cooked. Not recommended! However, the beer was good.

Been there before and it’s always been good. This time a rude pink headed waitress who messed up a table reservation and after that again rudely said they didn’t have what was on the menu. We left without eating or drinking. Never again. Avoid! View menu

Have visited here a few times when waiting for train back home from Paddington and always had nice food and much better than anything within the station. This visit had steak and ale pie which was superb, full of steak, really big portion as well, highly recommended

Lovely pub . But food was awful .. ordered steak and ale pie ,it came with mash and cabbage. But never in my life have I seen cabbage in a big slab that looked like it had been thrown on a griddle to char grill it . It was burnt . No one asked how meal was on collecting plates and most of it was left . Total waste of money .. View menu

The place is what it is, a traditional but touristy pub by Paddington Station, but the food was a joke. The £18 stake was supposed to be a “18 months dry aged sirloin with triple cooked fries”. Haha, what a joke! It was a chewy piece of blend meat and store bought fries, and a quite boring bearnaise. Not uneatable but far FAR from what is on the menu.

I visited this charming pub, but unfortunately, the food was quite disappointing. I ordered a pie, but the mashed potatoes were smothered in a strange orange sauce. After requesting a replacement, I was given watery gravy instead. My husband's roast chicken was overcooked and the vegetables lacked flavor. To make matters worse, the cauliflower cheese was missing altogether. When I mentioned our dissatisfaction to the server, she simply shrugged and cleared the table.

"The decor of the restaurant is really lovely. We were greeted as soon as we arrived. We placed our orders quite briskly. We received complimentary bread and olives, which was a nice touch. Our Bruchetta starter arrived a whole hour after we arrived, which was disappointing and far too long to wait for a cold and easy starter. The menu did not specify that the prawns on one of the bruschettas were raw! The waiter said service was slow because they were busy with Uber Eats and Deliveroo. Clearly not prioritising paying customers, who pay a 12.5% service charge, unlike online customers. Eventually, our main courses arrived. My pasta was only just cooked, so close to being undercooked and hard. They ran out of ricotta and replaced it with the tiniest amount of cheese so I asked for some more. Since ricotta was supposed to be the main ingredient of the dish. The tuna steak was lovely, and the veal could have done with a thinner breadcrumb batter. The sides, chips and zucchini, were £4.50 and very small portions for such a cheap side. So that was slightly disappointing. Overall, the pinot grigio white wine was very drinkable, and they brought tap water when we asked for it. And the whole staff were very polite. It was a shame the service was so slow, and the food could have been better for the price that it was. We also felt it was overpriced for the location it was, zone 2 London and not in the West End."
