The food was outstanding at this quaint country pub with old oak beams and a charming display of Native American Indian artifacts.

We had a great time at this friendly pub on a hot Saturday. The Guinness was top-notch and the baguettes and chips were delicious. We highly recommend this pub.

I stopped by this beautiful pub with my son, who is participating in a charity bike ride. We were warmly welcomed and experienced excellent service with no request being too much trouble.

I had a fantastic evening at this incredibly warm and welcoming restaurant. The food was excellent with generous portions, and unlike many other restaurants, it was freshly cooked. I will definitely return and highly recommend a visit.

"On Holiday in Wedmore so decided to eat out at Table Eight. First impressions were great. Nice decor and everything looked clean and tidy. We were served promptly and the starters came in good time. We were asked if everything was okay and we started to tuck in. 15 seconds into the starters we were again asked if everything was okay, which we confirmed it was. I lost track of the amount of times we were asked if everything was okay throughout the entire meal. It’s very nice to check, but it became so frequent that it just constantly interrupted the meal having to pause our conversation and meal to say “very nice, thank you” every couple of minutes. After a while you start to think “why shouldn’t everything be okay?, are we missing something?”. The food itself was great and we really enjoyed it. We asked for the bill, confirmed everything was okay a few more times and paid using cash. The bill was reasonable (it’s bring your own wine so this obviously has an impact on the bill). We sat waiting for our change for quite some time and confirmed a few more times that the food was lovely while we waited… and waited. We always leave a tip, however the change we were waiting on was about a tenner and unfortunately were not in a position to be that flash. After waiting quite some time we had to awkwardly ask for our change. Eventually after the message being passed through just about everyone in the restaurant, we were presented with our change in coins in the palm of the waiters hand. Soooo awkward!!! Anyway, to summarise : Great food band a nice place. “Is everything okay” once per course would suffice and give customers their change back and let them decide if they want to leave a tip."

"we've been coming here for years, but never came to that. on Sunday after Christmas we wanted to eat something and dog friendly. our normal places were closed, but the black was open, and had tables only forsunday, which was ideal, and also took dogs! we arrived to find a parking space that is solid but has found a place. when entering we find this beautiful old building with wooden floors and a beautiful outside area that would be great in summer. we were brought to our table after we said our names and shortly after given menus. we ordered the bark, and had the extra cost of cauliflower cheese and vegetables. while we waited, I ordered drinks at the bar and loved the fact that they had to find the more difficult brands. I love German beer, and they had a German beer that I had not yet what was amazing. our meals arrived with a decent amount on the dish and tasted well. to dessert I had two, Christmas pudding and another pudding. the Christmas pudding was small, mostly seeds, and not what I call Christmas pudding, which is rich with fruits. the other pudding was in order, but nothing special, and should be for £8.00 everyone as I paid at clavelshay barn! I had made amazing puddings by a qualified chef who now chef at the castle, in taunton. if we got the bill, it was over £90, and then they want another 10% survey fee up, so it almost £100!!! we usually don't pay the extra, but this time, because of the friendly, efficient staff. our local crossways pub, at west huntspill, the somerset camra pubin somerset, makes a beautiful Sunday dinner, and even with extra veg, several desserts, expensive dose beer, etc., cost less than £70! we like the swan, but not as regular restaurant."
