"Airport Restaurant There is a lackadaisical atmosphere to The Smithfield a customer can walk in, walk around, sit down and not really interact with any of the various team members. The Food is along a British Pub theme the drinks selection is good. The venue is nicely laid out very pleasant. I walked in, walked around sat down at my table. I then borrowed a food menu, from the table next to me. As I had already made my mind up, I decided to order at the bar. (Bonus points the bartender immediately knew which table I was sitting at which means that they were paying attention to the customer) I ordered a Guinness, the 1 4 Chicken Ribs served with a small side salad, chunky chips BBQ sauce. The food was delivered very promptly the server departed almost immediately, without any interaction, returning to the bar whilst I was saying thank you. The Chicken Hot, Moist tasty The Ribs Hot, Tasty The meat almost fell off the bone The Chips Chunky Fluffy The Side Salad Green uneventful dresssing BBQ sauce It was OK (nothing to write home about). The Guinness LOVELY Did I enjoy the food? Yes, it was good pub grub Did I leave hungry? No, the portions were of a good size Did I enjoy the Guinness? YES!!! Happy to return, mostly for an airport pint but I would also occasionally have some food (depending on my airport schedule) The service staff interaction just needs a bit of a revamp The venue could do with it’s own, dedicated, WiFi As the Luton Airport WiFi is TERRIBLE (I might have stayed, for another drink, if I could have had a better network experience continued working)"

The most elaborate English breakfast you could have. And very filling too. Perfect to load up before a long LCC flight which is usually the option out of Luton.

Had brunch here on 12th of Dec, got a very bad dose of food poisoning. Literally spent my four-day trip afterwards with diarrhoea and vomiting. Wouldn't recommend and won't be going back.

Food is ok for airport food. Used the app to order and were warned that the kitchen would be 20mins for service. Perfectly ok and good to know. Coffee was good. However, service is poor and cutlery seems non existent.

Absolute criminals. Went for a few drinks here before our flight, charged me £23.75 for 3 drinks, a week later (only away for 4 days) another payment for £23.75 was taken by the company. Went through.my bank and the business and rejected the claim. Give me back my money!!! View menu

2 and a half stars is 2 and a half to much. Shocking service (if you can get any) was told there was 300 covers and only 5 staff. When we said we was in a hurry, was told to wait like everyone else. So came opposite to nolito opposite. Friendly efficient and food was lovely

Ordered breakfast when it arrived it was only just warm and items missing when I asked a member of staff about the missing items I was told to go to the bar and ask them but there was only 1 person serving and a que of 10 people waiting to order my food would have been stone cold by the time I had got to the bar A very disappointing breakfast considering the cost

Had my dinner here before catching an outbound flight. Food was absolutely delicious. Had the BBQ pulled briquette and beef burger a side of chips. Price was reasonable considering it's in the airport terminal. Service was quick and efficient. All in all a 5/5!! A few days later I had misplaced my receipt, called and spoke to Diogo Goncalves, even though I could hear they were busy, he was an absolute gentleman and took the time to go back and find my order and then email me a copy of my receipt. This wasn't a quick search either and he went well over and beyond for my request. He deserves a big thumbs up for his customer service Will definitely be back next time. BR, N View menu

Went for breakfast this morning. My husband chose the Number 1 breakfast and I ordered the creamy scrambled eggs on toast. My eggs arrived and were just lumps of egg and cold. I sent it back and asked for hot, creamy scrambled eggs. My husband’s food was overcooked but warm. He had finished his meal before the waitress brought my scrambled eggs. The toast had been buttered and the creamy scrambled eggs were an omelette chopped up. My husband called to a waitress and asked her to take them back. I was offered a third try but the cook obviously didn’t understand the concept of hot, creamy scrambled eggs. Absolute rip off place. Awarded one star as review wasn’t accepted with no stars.

Was flying out 8th January, went into Smithfield 1992, served by Maciek, ordered a pint of Urquell lager for £8, paid by card but was told card declined, so paid cash instead. Internet at Luton Airport is terrible, but managed to log into my banking app which showed the £8 transaction was in pending state. Told Maciek that my card had been charged, he called his manager who took me to his computer screen and showed me all the transactions that had taken place and showed that my card transaction was not showing on his screen. Manager assured me even though my banking app showed a transaction was in pending state, no money would be taken from my bank and that transaction would be cancelled wit...

"After reading all the good reviews we decided to try this restaurant and had high expectations We arrived to not a particularly warm welcome the waitress told us the specials were chicken, steak and veal and walked off no mention of how they were cooked or what sauces they came with and no prices after asking how the veal came the waitress had to go into kitchen and ask the chef who shouted out how they were cooked and the waitress then said did you hear that? we decided to just order off of the menu we ordered drinks to start with (a bottle of rose wine plonked on the table not even opened) when the lady came to take our order we asked if we could have a few minutes to finish our pre dinner drinks it was obviously a problem for her that we wanted to wait a short while and after being asked for about the fifth time we felt under pressure to place our order (even though the restaurant was half empty) whilst the pasta dishes were nice the garlic bread left a lot to be desired basically just a toasted slice of white dry bread as soon as we had finished our main course our plates were taken away and the bill put on the table we were not asked if we wanted anything else as we still had half a bottle of wine left we didn’t settle the bill straight away as we were enjoying our wine we lost count of the times they tried to ask us to pay again under immense pressure we paid and felt like we had to leave it was not a relaxing evening nor were we made to feel welcome. This restaurant specialises in pasta and pizza and we heard the waitress telling tow guys who wanted pizza that they only had enough dough left for one pizza they had run out and it was only 8.30! Overall our experience of this restaurant was very disappointing very rushed, unfriendly staff, no niceties and certainly not a relaxing evening we will not be returning."
