"Wonderful place to celebrate a birthday. Booked a space here to celebrate a 60th birthday party for my uncle. Ordered a buffet to cater for everyone, which came out on time, food was lovely and the staff were all really friendly to us all. Thank you!!"

Hidden gem on the south coast. Magnificent views and plenty of seating area to take in the exhilarating sea views. Good Pub menu.

Really enjoyed the visit . Lovely venue . Great staff and lovely food . The only thing would say the roast was lovely but a few notes potatoes and extra slice of meat would of been great .

Just enjoyed a beautiful Sunday roast trio here; Really excellent service from Debby as well, very friendly. Going to enjoy a glass of red now looking out over the sea. The meal is a really good size and I fully recommend it! View menu

I visited with a bunch of pals on a hiking adventure from Newhaven to Brighton. The pub was a brilliant stop off serving excellent flatbreads and roasts with good beer and wine selection. The array of flatbreads was definitely a highlight

I just love the smugglers rest. The food is of top quality. The staff are extremely friendly and provide an excellent service. One of my favourite places to eat and so reasonably priced! Can’t wait to go back and gave another delicious meal!

"What a fabulous Sunday lunch today! Very large portions excellent cooked! My husband had the Nut Roast and I had the Roast Chicken. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. We asked for extra gravy and within a few minutes it was served! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a smile and shown to our table by the lovely Rosie. Service was excellent but unobtrusive. The whole atmosphere was just perfect! This is how the service industry should be. Excellent food, wonderful staff and lovely surroundings. Well done Rosie, Abby and all the staff. We will be back and certainly recommend!"

"We have been to this restaurant several times before Never any cause for complaint but sadly this visit was disappointing 6 adults We all had the mixed starters deal Unfortunately the quality was not up to the usual standard All the items tasted the same very oily appeared to have been cooked in the same pan The mains were better but I had the mixed seafood stir fry sadly the mussels had not opened during cooking which casts doubt on quality of the product The other mains were good and the quantity was perfect The sides were excellent as well Then we received the bill we were surprised at the total cost For six adults the bill came to 180.00 Rather more than expected considering the quality of the food Shame really as befor we have used this restaurant many times before"
