"My friends and I regularly meet at this restaurant once a month, and we always have a pleasant experience. The menu is delicious and the staff is attentive and professional. During our recent visit, we were served by a charismatic waitress named Tequila. She was professional, friendly, and enthusiastic in taking our orders. The food arrived in a timely manner (within 30-40 minutes, which is reasonable for preparation) and looked just as appetizing as the pictures on the menu. The comfort pub food had a good variety of options to choose from, making it easy to try something different each time we visit. It's a great place to enjoy a meal with friends while having a drink. I will continue to visit for lunchtime catch-ups with friends. For my main course, I had the Beef Lasagne with Salad and Flatbread, followed by a delicious Biscoff Sundae for dessert."

Great food, plenty of space and lovely hosts. Tequila (love the name) was especially great and so welcoming and attentive.

We had a lovely family meal here. Food and value was fantastic and service was exceptional. Special mention for Tequilla who is so good at her job! Thank you!

Stopped off here for some lunch, I had the Smothered Chicken Melt, very tasty, But most of all I was served by Trudy and Tequilla, both were very polite and friendly. View menu

The food was excellent. We went early on in the morning and everything was stocked up and hot. The continental was fresh and the coffee tasted nice. The young man running around on buffet did a great job even when it got busy. Would definitely go again!

I was not expecting much, but my meal at this restaurant was terrible. The so-called ‘char grilled’ half chicken was flavorless and had a mushy texture, clearly microwaved. The sweetcorn cobs were overcooked and lacked any taste. It's a shame that the management ignores customer reviews. The service was fine, but Premier Inn should address the issues with this establishment.

The service at this restaurant was exceptional. I want to thank Lee and the team for making us feel so welcome tonight. Lee, in particular, stood out for his warm welcome as soon as I walked in, helping me while I waited for the rest of my family, and finding us a table that was perfect for our needs. This level of attentiveness continued throughout the entire evening. Thank you for your kindness. View menu

Decided to take a few friends out for dinner at the spruce tonight as it’s a local restaurant to all of us and what can I say! Wow the service from our waitress Sinead was out of the world she was so attentive to our table the service was extremely quick, sinead checked back on us numerous times to ensure that our experience was second to none! I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone in the area !

Excellent value for families with kids eat free codes. Make sure you book because this place is busy. Clearly they doing something right. The host who I believe is the manager was very friendly and helpful. The team were at full tilt yet interacted well with the kids. All the adults ordered steak , which was perfectly cooked. Our first time here and my first review. Well done and thank you to the Spruce Goose . We will definitely return . Perfect for families.

"Our first visit. We cannot praise thank The Wellie highly enough. What a find! Peacefully rural on a quiet road to the south of Baughurst. A classic, pretty country pub, now converted to an excellent restaurant, with three rooms. What strikes you first is how immaculate The Wellie is, inside and out. The large garden is a delight. Masses of dahlias and all manner of bushes and plants. Birds, birds and more birds. Do check out the vegetable garden beyond the rear car park. You then walk inside to the warmest of relaxed welcomes from the owners, Simon and Jason, and manager, Sheila, and their lovely young helpers. Nothing is too much trouble. The first thing you’ll spot is the array of fruit, veg salad for sale by the pub bar – the Wellie Deli. Along with home made jams, chutneys, quiches, etc. I then spotted the two hand pumps! Longdog Golden Poacher Basingstoke Pride. The seating inside is for diners every session is a sell out! But I was very happy to sup several excellent pints of well kept draught Basingstoke Pride in the garden – until I discovered their Negronis! Truly the best this side of Kwant (Piccadilly). We’d opted for the room in the pub: the Apartment. Two rooms on the first floor, knocked through. Enormous comfy bed, large rainfall shower, sofa, mini bar – two TVs! Free milk homemade shortbread. One of the discoveries we made here is the fabulous tea they serve from Prince Sons. As you can tell by now, we were very happy with our first stay at The Wellie… and then we went down for dinner! A truly exceptional menu from Jason’s kitchen, which changes each evening. Highlights were the scallops wrapped in pancetta, the pollack, the lamb pot pie, the twice baked cheese souffle, the NY cheesecake, the rhubarb ice cream, the treacle tart... All so fresh, tasty, and mainly from their garden. What we loved most was it was relaxed but fine dining without the tiny portions. The Full English breakfast the next morning was equally tasty. All in all, we did not want to go home! Thank you Simon, Jason Sheila. We will be back, soon."
