"The layout of this form actually misses the point as it only caters for eating at The Talbot Inn. We actually stayed at the Inn and had a delightful weekend. The room was very comfortable, had all the amenities which we needed, including an en suite and we enjoyed very good night sleeps. The hotel is perfectly situated for visiting the Shropshire Hills and would be perfect for walkers. Guests who were staying enjoyed breakfast in a separate room to the main part of the Inn and there was a great choice. We would definitely stay here again if visiting this part of Shropshire."

Nice place , good prices. My cod mornay was a bit greasy and some of the fish was hard on the edges due to microwaving. But all in all , had a nice taste and plenty of it .

This pub is a fabulous and timeless spot. If you're looking for a classic, old-style atmosphere, this place deserves 5 stars. It's the perfect place to relax and enjoy the charm of the old city. We had a very enjoyable dining experience and highly recommend trying the cake of the day.

We visited the restaurant today with a group of three people, looking for some coffee in an outdoor seating area. I also decided to have lunch and I'm so glad we did! The food was delicious, the service was friendly and quick. It was a truly enjoyable visit and we will definitely be returning soon.

Lovely staff, and quiet comfortable rooms. Superb breakfast, and great hearty evening meals. It's not haute cuisine but all well cooked and the vegetables on the side beautifully done. I would have given it straight fives but for the instant coffee in the self serve machine. How about a bean to cup? Or at least a Nespresso? Nevertheless fantastic value, would definitely look at staying ther again View menu

We stopped by early, as they open at 11:30, and it was 11:32 when we arrived for a large coffee and a much-needed cup of joe. The service was quick, the presentation of the drinks was beautiful, and they were better than any other coffee shop in the area. More customers soon arrived, which was a good sign, and there were many conversations happening in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. We will definitely be returning.

Our second visit here in less than months. All the staff are very welcoming. Room which is quite big is supplied with a beverage tray, toiletries in the bathroom and has a very comfy bed is in the old malt house at the back of the beer garden. Breakfast is also served in the malt house downstairs. Make sure you book in advance if you wish to eat in the pub as it does get busy, I’m not at all surprised as the food is very nice great value for money. Thanks to Sarah family for the warm welcome once again.

"Beautifull hotel, I guess one can call it trendy , but I just don 't understand how they can justify the price £130/night and that most of the time will go to £160 as they run out of entry level ones. So I guess the answer is there because people pay for it! But let 's just make some relevant comparisons Birmingham Grand literally in the heart of the city, brand new, 5* hotel, with all recently decorated rooms to the highest standard is £135 15 for breakfast. Needless to say rooms are air conditioned, fully equipped and genuinelly very posh. Hotel has lifts, has porters and the service is top notch. The Lion is barelly 4* just for trendiness alone, but the actual quality of furnishing is closer to 3*, has no lift and you will be lugging your bags up and down mutiple flights of stairs (and I mean multiple like 8 going up and down) trought narrow corridors to mediocre room (nothing wrong with it just mediocre) which isn 't even air conditioned. Sorry, I just don 't get it. That said restaurant is good fully fine dining if you are into it. Althought in my oppinion it doesn 't fit into the rest of the hotel. So it is ~3.5* hotel which is very youghtfull and trendy and then you get 5* fine dining with very tiny portions for the dinner (which is not criticism of restaurant, it is very good on it 's own). In conclussion I just don 't get what niche this hotel is filling, who stays there and why. The price for the rooms should be £75 95 tops. Shreesbury is not exactly prime tourists destination either (at least shouldn 't). But it seems it is working out for them, I just would not recommend it, I would not stay in it again and it is definatelly not worth the price. Neither in isolation, nor in comparison."

"Open since 1970 and located on Mardol, one of Shrewsbury’s oldest streets @thecurryhouseshrewsbury serves locally sourced ingredients married with traditional spices and chillies from the Indian subcontinent, a match made in heaven. 5 5 Recommended Price No better way to kick off proceedings but with popadoms, chutneys and fresh onion salad. On to appetisers and there are so many tempting dishes to choose with many of these exclusive to the curry house. Our first time trying Pani Puri. A sweet and spicy hot street food snack filled with chickpeas and tamarind sat on a bed of crunchy, nutty Bombay mix. With a building but pleasant heat, definitely something everyone should try. The quality and freshness of the seafood was exceptional. Spicy king prawns were huge and cooked to perfection. Charred on the outside for flavour but juicy and meaty. Trio of King scallops were beautifully tender and of a good size with sweetness from the tamarind liquor. Lamb rogan Josh tender lamb shoulder in a medium hot ginger tomato and onion sauce. A strong take on a traditional favourite of ours. Fresh from the Tandoor a generous mix of marinaded chicken, lamb, king prawns and a chargrilled lamb chop. The Tandoori deluxe massalla sauce was the perfect blend of sweetness melting into a subtle heat which brought the dish together perfectly. The curry house takes traditional dishes and flavours from the Indian subcontinent and elevates them to a level beyond expectations. Thank you for our invite to share the exciting menu created with passion and creativity. "Fantastic range of small dishes and meals for lunch and dinner. The menu ranges from scandi to oriental, so something for everyone. The menu is clearly marked with allergens, including what meals can be adapted. The chicken is halal and vegan and vegetarian options are plentiful. The cocktail and mocktail menu is great and they do one of the best espresso martinis in Shrewsbury. The decor is modern and comfortable and there is plenty of space. As a wheelchair user, I can get into the ground floor and to a table. The outside seats are up a small step, but the whole front of the building is a retractable wall of windows, so I can still get the feeling of eating outside in good weather. The service is friendly and knowledgeable about allergies, the menu and the wine list. The staff are helpful and unobtrusive. The only difficulty for me (hence the 4 star review) is that the accessible bathroom is next door, in their sister bar, Libertine. Unfortunately, libertine isn't open the same hours as HotRS, so I can only use it at certain times. The ladies does have a lock on the door, so staff have cleared the ladies toilets, which allowed me to take my chair in and lock the door. I had to walk a couple of steps to get into a stall but my chair was safely with me. Of course, there is also no alarm cord, but they stood outside the door so would have heard if I shouted for help."
