"Wow, what a delightful surprise! We happened to come across this pub while we were lost and searching for a place to eat, and I must say, we received such a warm and beautiful welcome that we immediately felt at home. We enjoyed a lovely meal with bar snacks on Sunday evening, which I would definitely recommend to everyone. However, if I had to mention one negative aspect, it would be that I couldn't eat the tomato soup—I'm sorry to say."

It may be a bit tricky to locate, but it's definitely worth the effort. The food is delicious, and there are great vegetarian options available.

I had a lovely dinner here on Friday evening. My wife and I both enjoyed the steak pie, which was absolutely delicious. It was filled with lean meat and came with a fantastic crust.

We are on our way to the House of Whitby, a lovely pub in a charming village. The ladies behind the bar were warm and welcoming. The beer was excellent, and the food smelled fantastic. I believe we've found our go-to spot for every visit to the North Yorkshire coast!

Really well cooked pub food. The steak pie was full of tender meat and came with a perfect suet crust. Nice choice on the menu. All the dishes were excellent. Prices are ridiculously cheap and the portions are large. Whoever is in the kitchen really knows how to cook.

I had an outstanding experience at this restaurant, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a wonderful time. The food was fantastic, and the staff went above and beyond to be helpful and friendly. We were actually recommended to come here by the Premier Inn. Sending a big hug!

We had a family dinner here to celebrate my daughter's 18th birthday, and I can't recommend it highly enough. The warm welcome made us feel right at home, and the place was impeccably maintained. The food was incredible—especially the Goan-style curry, which was absolutely to die for! The atmosphere was fantastic as well. Thank you, Three Hares!

we found this beautiful country pub randomly and what a sound. it is so cozy and interesting. the lady who served us was a joy to speak with and very attentive. eating was simple and tasty, we only needed a snack, so ordered good old egg and chips. no fat drop on the plate and perfectly cooked. When I come home the next time, I'll come along the a64 direction leeds. beautiful place, beautiful service. many thanks.

"I’m disappointed to have to write a poor review of this lovely venue, however, I feel I must share our experience. We were there as a group of six for brunch on Sunday. The venue was relatively empty on this occasion, but service was still...very poor. Everything took an age and getting staffs attention was difficult. After our drinks came, consisting of, amongst others, 3 lattes, all of which were different, and ‘fresh’ orange juice which tasted suspiciously watered down, we ordered our breakfasts. After an age, the breakfasts arrived. 3 of the six were wrong. Missing tomatoes, missing hollandaise sauce, missing sausages. We were left to sort out some of the issues ourselves by swapping food from plate to plate and had to wait for other food to come out. There was no apology from the server who I presume was the manageress? She merely remarked that she had ‘not yet had a coffee’ that morning and came up with a **** and bull story about why the order was wrong. There was also no offer of any sauces or wether or not we required additional drinks we had to request these ourselves (lipstick still present on one of the tea mugs). There was also no come back to check if everything was ok with the meals. As for the food itself, the ‘toast’ was horrendously dry (more akin to French toast), the hash brown burnt on the outside and undercooked on the inside, and poached egg was served already burst. That said, the bacon and sausage was pleasant, but not worth the price. Getting anyones attention was difficult and there was absolutely no feeling of us being wanted/welcomed there. If you, the owner, is going to ask why we didn’t raise these concerns at the time, you may want to consider that we were there as 3 groups, all of whom hadn’t seen each other in some time, and didn’t want to cloud the pleasant meeting we had with the bad experience of your venue. Also, given the issues with the breakfasts, and amount of time we were there, anyone with an ounce of customer service skill would realise we hadn’t had the best experience and may have tried to rectify it before we left, or at least, apologised for the issues."

"This review is for the food only. However, being an establishment that's offers Halal dining, I have also mentioned a few other things that people will find helpful. Food is average at best. All chicken dishes taste the same. In starters, the fish pakoras were hard and didn't taste right. The seekh kebabs were good though. And so we're the chicken tikka botis. Lamb chops were acceptable. Quite a few deserts on the menu were unavailable. Naan and roti were fresh. Chicken in chicken palak was under cooked. Credit to the staff who took it back and took it off the bill. We visited the establishment on our way back from a long journey and had another 120 mins of travel left. We were running out of time for Asar prayer so had to visit the place. A few things to note... No place to make wudhu as the toilets were not really clean. We made wudhu in the car park after using the toilets. No place to offer salah inside. Not even an office. There was music being played and the place serves alcohol. The staff did turn off the music at our request and seated us in a corner where we could offer salah next to the table on our own mussalah. They did not mind that at all. So full credit to them for this. However, it's worth noting that the place was almost empty with only a few other covers. We stayed about 2.5 hrs. Prayed Magrib and Isha there. Had it not been for the rain and the need to make wudhu/toilets on a country road, we would not have eaten there for reasons other than food."
