"This review is no reflection on the staff at all, they were really nice and welcoming. The last time I went to Three Horse Shoes, you would be very lucky to get a table it was so busy, the food was so good. When we walked in (lunchtime on a Sunday) we had reserved a table based on what it used to be like. We didn’t need to worry about that. Only a couple of tables were in use, someone was playing darts which screams out that this pub is no longer good for food. I ordered a Sunday lunch, i had to drain some water off the plate from the vegetables they were so soggy and nothing could have rescued the taste, they were beyond help. The roast potatoes were burnt potatoes, I do like mine crispy but two were black, the only thing good on the plate was the mini Yorkshire pudding and the garden peas. I didn’t raise my issues at the time because I didn’t want to appear rude. It needs to be back to basics proper home cooked food with an emphasis on local produce. This pub used to be a goldmine and it could be again, definitely needs a lot of work."

We stopped at the three horse shoes after a walk. Light bite, dessert and drink for us both and some lovely treats for the dog. Lovely friendly pub, great value and great tasting food!

Avoid this pub at all costs paid £10 for a pizza that was tiny and found it in Aldi the next day My brother also ordered a butter chicken curry which tasted like the Aldi one he gets every week for lunch

Stopped here on our way up to North of the dale's for lunch. Very friendly, lunch was lovely and our dogs were welcome too. We were also told that a mile down the road was a nature reserve where dogs were also welcome. Would definitely recommend. View menu

Charming little pub with outdoor seating, enjoyed a sandwich and hand-cut chips on a sunny day. The meal was very tasty and the new managers were pleasant. Will definitely come back. A beautiful spot, perfect for a quick stop after a walk around the Ings.

The food at this restaurant is frozen and cheap, cooked poorly with little to no service. While we understand that the pub has recently changed ownership, we were hoping for good quality, home cooked meals but were disappointed. The frozen chips and cheap pies were not up to par, and even football clubs would be embarrassed to serve them. Our family has been visiting this pub for years and we have always enjoyed good, honest home cooked food, but unfortunately this experience did not live up to our expectations.

Ate here for the first time in many years with some friends last week. The pub was nice inside at lunch time, although empty we were literally the only customers. We had lunch. The food was cheap most main courses just under a tenner but fairly poor quality. Comments on the Fish and Chips had by most like a big fish finger , probably came from Aldi prison food not that she 'd know. Vegetable Wellington was all right . My Steak and Ale Pie was a bit better but generally agreed that we 'd much have preferred to have paid more for decent food. Beer was ok though. View menu

My previous review of this place was a solid 5 stars, one of the best restaurants in the area unfortunately with the new ownership the place has gone downhill. The Sunday dinners were always my favorite but my recent visit left me vastly disappointed. The food was of poor quality and portions were small, I had a Sunday dinner and a desert and was still hungry. The food just isn't as good but the prices are still very expensive. Very disappointed as I was a regular customer here and I won't be returning unless it comes under new ownership again. To note, I also went with 3 other people who also thought the same.

We stopped by the Three Horse Shoes for lunch during our dog walk. I have visited this restaurant many times in the past, but not since before covid. Today, my friends and I brought our dogs along. The staff behind the bar were friendly, but I was disappointed with my order of a chip butty. I had been craving some homemade chips to warm me up, but instead received crinkle cut oven chips on a platter with a small bread bun. I also noticed someone else's order of a frozen pie as it passed by our table. The pub appeared rundown and unclean. While I enjoy stopping here for lunch during a dog walk, I will not be returning. I should have just gone home and made my own chip butty. With a better men...
