"I was really looking forward to my fish and chip meal today as a treat because it is so expensive these days.I wouldn’t normally leave negative reviews but I can honestly say this was one of the worst takeaway meals I have had The chips were so greasy I couldn’t believe it and the fish was more like chewing a sirloin steak I will say I have eaten here before without problem but most of this ended in the bin I hope the owner reads these comments"

I only got a cone of chips but they were pretty good, hot and crunchy plus they had a fluffy centre. View menu

Although the staff were rushed off their feet, great efficient team work, no sign off stress and produced the highest quality food! Great fish and chips.

Visit 4th May, had chicken chow mein which was very poor and expensive compared to other take aways. 1st time ordering Chinese from this take away and will stick to English/kebabs in future

Excellent local chippy/chinese takeaway. Can't recommend this place enough. Its been going since the 1980's, and is always busy. That tells you everything you need to know. The mixed and chips is a particular favourite of mine. Brilliant View menu

Hubby has just been in to buy us a chippy tea. I wanted a large sausage, chips, and gravy. When he got home found he was given a small sausage and a small portion of chips but had been charged for a large. I've noticed a decline in this chippy over the last few months. Maybe time to try somewhere different

The kebabs at this restaurant are delicious, but for the price of eight pounds for a mixed kebab, they could be more generous with the portions. In tough economic times, it's important to keep customers satisfied in order to retain their business. A little extra meat would go a long way in ensuring customer loyalty.

"Hearing about a traditional fish and chip shop in Prestwich, complete with a restaurant and bar, and cooking in beef-dripping with the option for vegetable oil (call to confirm vegetable oil availability), I was compelled to check it out. Upon entering the shop, I found myself in the bar area, with access to the restaurant located upstairs. The bar was furnished with tables, chairs, and stools for those wishing to enjoy a drink or avoid the stairs. It is encouraging to see young people engaged in the fish and chip shop trade, potentially leading to more traditional establishments in the future. The cod, although slightly smaller than expected, was delicious and cooked to perfection. The chips were among the best I’ve had in a long time. The pea fritters, black pudding fritters, and tartare sauce were also excellent. In-house pies were available as well, so I sampled the cheese and onion and meat and potato varieties and can recommend both. There is parking available across the street and on-street. However, the opening hours might not suit those looking for a lunchtime meal, as at the time of this review, the hours are Tuesday to Saturday from 4:30 PM to 8:30 PM, and closed on Sunday and Monday.
