"During our visit to Oban, our tour guide suggested Waterfront Fishouse for dinner. We followed their advice and made a reservation for the evening. Although we arrived earlier than planned, the staff was very welcoming and accommodating. We were seated on the second floor, which was a bit crowded and stuffy compared to the more open first floor. While I don't recall the specific dishes we ordered, I do remember enjoying the mussels for my appetizer so much that I could have had a second round for my main course. The seafood was incredibly fresh and cooked to perfection, making for a delicious meal. If I find myself in Oban again, I will definitely return to Waterfront Fishouse."

The best fish I've ever had. Ever bite was an experience! The French manager was very friendly. Lovely views. I would highly recommend Oban and eating here!

The food, service, and atmosphere at this restaurant are all fantastic. We discovered it thanks to a recommendation from someone at Glenfiddich Distillery, and they were absolutely right!

Early Dinner Special Set Menu was value-for-money, with varied options. Went on 2 nights just to try more dishes. Staff was attentive. Pretty views of the harbour (even if you don't sit by the window, can still take in the view as the windows are huge. Good location. View menu

I was in Scotland for 2 weeks with my family and this was everyone's favorite place to eat that we went to! I had the sea bass fillets which was the best food I've ever eaten. It's also very nice and quiet in the restaurant. Definitely a recommend for amazing seafood!

I am surprised by the low rating reviews. I love seafood, and I had one of the best mussels dishes ever! The fish dishes were also cooked to perfection. Generous portions and reasonable prices. Friendly staff. Clean bathroom. I'm not sure when I'll be back in Scotland again, but I would love to visit Oban again and and go back to this restaurant.

We had a good experience at this restaurant. The food was mostly excellent (my oysters didn't compare favorably to others I've had in the US). The fish and chips were really nicely done, crisp without being overly breaded. My companion's salmon was beautifully cooked; most and tender. And the sticky toffee pudding, my goodness it was wonderful. It loses a star for the somewhat indifferent service (it could be I'm just an anxious American) and for the oysters. View menu

If you're in search of a seafood restaurant that truly celebrates the treasures of the sea, then Waterfront is the perfect choice. While it may be a bit pricier, you won't be let down. The staff is incredibly welcoming and will make you feel right at home, showing genuine appreciation for your visit. Sitting by the windows offers the best dining experience. The food is exceptional! Make sure to dine here for a memorable evening that will be the highlight of your visit.

It is right near the ferry terminal. There were nice views out of the window from our table of the harbor at twilight. They offer an early dinner deal until 6:45 of two courses for £15. For the openers we had the local mussels [cooked in white wine, shallot and garlic cream sauce]. They were excellent-fresh and tasty. Our main courses of the trout and sea bream were both very good. We added sides of asparagus and broccoli and a salad. The dense chocolate tart desert was very chocolaty and came with cream, raspberries and raspberry coulis and was a satisfying end to a good meal.

"On our last day here, killing time before the ferry, decided to try luncheon here. No expectations either way. And we were TOTALLY wowed it was just excellent. Trying not to put too many superlatives in this review, but it was really, really ace. We had a lovely table by the window overlooking the harbour where you could see dog walkers, children in wellies, crabbing, and little boats coming and going. Classic Islay. Then I have to mention the food. Jeez, it was top notch, and huuuuuuuge portions. I don’t think we’ve ever had four such consistently generous and fulfilling portions before. We had the scallops (massive, juicy, plentiful , the Crofter’s Platter, which was cheeses, hams, sausage rolls, salad, bread, chutneys; the soup massive bowl, loadsa crispy sourdough bread, and the fish and chips which was so big it draped over the plate! All delicious. Our guy, Andrew, was superb, so attentive and smiley and always bringing us more things, spoons, drinks, more bread, spoons, he was great. And we had a lovely chat with the very friendly and nice proprietor. She was wonderful. Really seemed to care about the place and her team. She told us all about the hotel and stuff it was really cool. We will most certainly come back here next time. You can’t necessarily get the best table every time, but we won’t mind if we don’t! : Oh, also, lovely clean loos!"
