"along the regents canal is about jumping from one pitstop to the other. towpath cafe is spilled with people in these days positiw, they had to find space on a berth which was placed along the river bank. they would be hard pressed to find a seat in the waterline bar, which is next to it. but a few minutes east along the regentkanal lies a quiet little restaurant on the opposite bank. the waterhouse restaurant is accessible via the kinglands road to the south bank of the regentskanal. Here you can get a burger with tweeper rings and chips for just £6 the price of a piece of cake and cappuccino in towpath cafe. and it is a full service restaurant (with proper tables and chairs in case of...read more"

We had a wedding reception last Friday and it was a huge success ;the chefs and catering team deserve enormous credit. The food was of a very high standard. The manager and the staff providing the service were very helpful and considerate. Many thanks to every one for their part in the great day in this wonderful venue. Best wishes-Trevor

We ate at The Waterhouse for a big family Sunday lunch. They were really accommodating of our big group and there was plenty of space for the toddler of the group to wander around whilst not disturbing other diners. The food was really tasty, particularly the moussaka which I ordered, and the service was very good fast and friendly. Would recommend this place to others! View menu

We went for lunch on Sunday, and unfortunately it was empty, so no much of an ambiance. But the food was tasty and the service excellent and very friendly. If you are looking for a simple, no fuss but nice meal, this is perfect. The restaurant is owned by a charity and also hosts Shoreditch Trust’s Blue Marble Training Programme to support and nurture young people to develop fulfilling careers in food and hospitality.

Fabulous local gem that I am embarrassed to say I have not taken enough advantage of. Went here with the in laws... Altho we were a tad unimaginative and all had the burger!!! It was very tasty... If a tad overcooked for me however such a lovely ethos, staff and location I will definitely be going back again soon!!!! Love it!!!! I would probably have given it 5 stars however I feel it would be a tad dishonest but really respect the whole business model and staff really were lovely!!!

"A friend and I stumbled on to this neighbourhood restaurant by chance; no research, no booking, no expectations. We were then blown away by the quality of the food: wonderfully fresh fish, beautifully cooked. The service is also exemplary. I've always enjoyed calamari, but this was by far the best I've ever had: truly succulent and juicy. The mussels were almost as good, and the sea bream kept up the standard. The spiced quince with ice cream made a nice change from baclava in a Turkish restaurant (they still threw in some baclava). The owner, Tony, provides excellent recommendations — make sure you take them! He knows what's fresh that morning, and how his wife cooks it. The bill comes hand-written, and Tony forgot to include the wine (obviously I corrected him). I can't remember the last time a restaurant bill made a mistake in the customers' favour! No service charge is included, and it deserves a lot more than the usual 12.5%. This is a wonderful, old-fashioned restaurant, run by a charming old couple, committed to maintaining old-fashioned standards. The food is more than great and the prices more than reasonable. Service is personal, honest and responsive (providing Tony turns his hearing aid on). Tony warns you if anything you wanted was bought in, rather than home-made. Why don't unassuming but wonderful restaurants like this get Michelin stars?"
