"Out for an evening stroll we decided to call in to the Wellington for a quick refreshment, two and half hours later we left having sampled pints of Old speckled hen and glasses of Sauvignon blanc. On arrival the bar staff offered us the menu which was very very reasonable at the best of times but on the Eat out to help out scheme came in at £3.22 for a two course meal (unbelievable).Julie had the Nachos for a starter and a Burger, I had the Garlic mushrooms and then the Braised steak. All in all a lovely meal and the new staff where very friendly. The pub was very hygienic, all totally washed down before re-opening and actually looked refurbed although it wasn 't.Nice to see one of our locals thriving again and I would highly recommend even at the full price of £6.45 for two courses ha ha.Worth a visit."

Nice to see the Wellington open again. Very friendly and welcoming staff upon arrival showed us to our seat and took the drinks and food order. Plenty of choice on the menu (maybe a little more for vegetarians will be beneficial) great offer buy a starter and main meal is free. Home cooked, tasty food served quickly. Will definitely be visiting regularly.

This is the first time we have visited the Wellington since lockdown and, with new owners, it doesn’t disappoint. The staff were all helpful, cheerful and very attentive and the food was delicious. We all had two courses each and even without the Eat Out to Help Out offer it is excellent value. The pub is very clean and tidy and although we didn’t use it because the weather was horrendous, the outdoor seating area is delightful. We will definitely be returning in fact we’ve booked to go back this weekend! View menu

decided to pop into the Welly for a bite to eat with my mum and dad, I told them it's Great ! cheap as chips!!.........In arrival, around 3.30, the place was empty which surprised me. New, OVER PRICED, Menu.. Ham, egg and Gastro chips x3.. how can you get this food so wrong. Freeeeezing cold ham, with 2 cooked eggs on top, gastro chips were raw and tasteless. 2 small lemonade and a soda water. £28.30.!!! I dont mind paying for pub grub, at the rite price, but this was ridiculous. I wont be going back for food, that I do know. Staff as friendly as ever.

Just been to the Wellington after a wait and I can tell you what a difference. The food menu is not as you expect. Whilst eating I commented on how the meals were presented and cooked to get a home cooked feeling. My wife had the Braised beef, with veggies and me the curry half-half. The braised beef was just perfectly cooked. The beef Curry I chose had an amazing amount of beef. We are considering booking for Sunday Roast. We spoke to the newer manager who confirmed all of the food is home cooked. If you feel the older welly food was ok or processed then the food now is better tasting, home cooked and the taste fantastic. Well worthwhile for the food and price. Defo going back again..
