"We took faith in the reviews and tried this place, after thinking it was closed/shut down. The outside of this pub just didn’t have that inviting feel, hence why we’ve driven past it so many times! Don’t be fooled though, the inside has lots of character. Some of the decor in the restaurant could be so much better, but to be honest we had the carvery we loved it! It was so good! Beautiful meat, cooked to perfection a real nice spread of veggies. The price too, is a huge plus for us, we felt completely satisfied! £97 for a family of 5 2 courses and drinks! It says something when we are looking to come back for an evening meal! Pros The food the price! Such welcoming staff. Cons The decor, the lack of good advertising online!"

All the staff are warm, friendly, and welcoming. Can not recommend the food especially the Sunday carvery enough. Just make sure you book! Thank you ladies.

Very warm atmosphere. The pub landlady and staff were very friendly and helpful. The meal was very substantial. U picked the steak and Stilton pie. It was delicious.

large traditional pub atmosphere, the personal is really friendly and cannot do enough to provide a great experience. very clean and tidy, well maintained. eating is of great quality and the portions are also great. there is a large selection of food for Sunday caraby and it is also cheap. well a visit for a family dinner or those who want a good meal on their own faust.

beautiful atmosphere and full of local so much friendly chat. the staff was plentiful and helpful. the carvery was good. some of the beef was challenging, but the turkey and gammon were excellent. broccoli was something too understated for me. the bakewell tart was good and she said her rhubarb crumble was also good. the weekly menu and the special menu looked interesting and varied.

what a place. I can't blame anything on this place. personal friendly, restaurant clean, and above all, eating, top notch I would prefer to give this place 1 star, just stopping people here and making it hard to get a table, but that would be selfish. a table of 4, pre drinks, carvery, and a desert washed with a coffee all for £80 we even questioned the bill, thought they have forgotten something, but no, it was right. we will be coming back

nice eating and friendly staff. a pub of locals (all seemed friendly and welcoming in the night and even knew that I had seen the specials boards). many gin, whisky and beer to choose from. gin mainly gordons and whitley neill, but some others. to ask about the change from court, so no kartoffels, but more salat. also offered rice or veg. pay attention to 2 different special butterflies one in the dining area and one in bar area. I want to go back.
