"We took faith in the reviews and tried this place, after thinking it was closed/shut down. The outside of this pub just didn’t have that inviting feel, hence why we’ve driven past it so many times! Don’t be fooled though, the inside has lots of character. Some of the decor in the restaurant could be so much better, but to be honest we had the carvery we loved it! It was so good! Beautiful meat, cooked to perfection a real nice spread of veggies. The price too, is a huge plus for us, we felt completely satisfied! £97 for a family of 5 2 courses and drinks! It says something when we are looking to come back for an evening meal! Pros The food the price! Such welcoming staff. Cons The decor, the lack of good advertising online!"

Very warm atmosphere. The pub landlady and staff were very friendly and helpful. The meal was very substantial. U picked the steak and Stilton pie. It was delicious.

Went for the Sunday carvery, good choice of meats and vegetables with sides. Good value and food tasted really good. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Definitely recommend.

Fabulous meal, best fish and chips we have had for ages. Excellent service, lovely big garden and children's play area. They even have Butty Bach on draft so I will be back soon with my fiancé, after a walk then their Sunday lunch :

We were on a walking holiday and intended to have lunch at The Wheatsheaf. We arrived to find they were closing early as there were no customers. But instead they opened up for us and we had some great sandwiches. Totally amazing and many thanks to the team.

Called in week day evening for a quick meal. Lasagne Madras delicious Decided to book for Sunday lunch Carvery With family Once again food excellent service too. Great selection of roast meats veg all cooked to perfection. Three of us had desserts delicious! Staff were great, atmosphere good, prices very reasonable. What more can you ask? This was nice to meet up with my best man after 35 years and is wife . I decided go the Wheatsheaf inn because the food is excellent and good atmosphere .he told me that he had not been there for meal before and he liked it very much also is wife. we decided we will make a place to meet up when so many of Families have meals there it just see it's popular. thank you from Graham ,Valerie ,Chris and Jean

I honestly can not praise this place enough, me and a friend attended a festival local to this establishment and stopped here over night, the rooms are immaculate and cosy, the food is divine, (highly recommend the steak baguette and the full English breakfast) the Staff and owners honestly go above and beyond to make you feel so welcome they are quite possibly the nicest people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting.
