"Overall, our experience at this restaurant was fine. We stayed for two nights last minute and the landlady was friendly and accommodating. However, the room was quite small and cramped, especially the bathroom. The bar and restaurant were run by children who didn't seem to have much hospitality experience. We had booked with dinner and breakfast included for both nights, but unfortunately, this wasn't registered in their system. When we came down for dinner on Sunday, we were informed that they stopped serving at 5pm, which we weren't made aware of beforehand. It's the little things that made our stay less enjoyable. The place may look nice from the outside, but it's all show and no substance. It wasn't a total disaster, but I wouldn't recommend it."

"Today we visited the Olive restaurant in Corby and I must say, it may just be my new favorite restaurant. I made a booking through their website and was provided with a recommended departure time. Upon arrival, I gave my name and was given several seating options. I chose a table by the window. We started with a bottle of Ombrellino Pinot Grigio Rose from Italy, which was a refreshing wine with notes of cherry and forest fruit. It paired well with our meals. For my starter, I had the Moules Mariniere, a classic French dish of mussels in a white wine, garlic, and parsley sauce served with ciabatta. It was delicious, though I wish they had provided a bowl for the discarded shells. My partner had the Tapas Trio, which included honey chorizo, patatas bravas, and a spinach feta parcel with tzatziki. He enjoyed it, especially the fresh and well-seasoned tzatziki. For my main course, I chose the Surf and Surf, a dish of cod fillet topped with Moroccan spiced prawns, served with new potatoes and Mediterranean vegetables. It had a bit more spice than expected, but I still found it delicious. My partner had the Chicken Parmesan Pasta, which he thought was a great combination of flavors with well-seasoned chicken and balanced pasta. We were so impressed with the food and atmosphere that we decided to have dessert. We opted for the Orange and Amaretti Trifle, a layered dessert with biscotti, orange jelly, custard, and Chantilly cream. It was delicious and light, though we wished it was a bit bigger. "I have multiple allergens I have to avoid at the moment due to breastfeeding a baby with allergies. The guys here are so helpful and accommodating. It’s really hard to trust places get it right so as not to impact on the baby. These guys make it no bother and their patience and advice instills that trust. Not to mention the food is absolutely delicious. Wouldn’t go anywhere else. Food: 5"

"This was our first order and definitely last one. The customer service was unacceptable. I ordered a halloumi Burger and I got burger with disgusting melted cheap cheese instead of halloumi. My husband called to complain but lady explained that they have a special way of cooking halloumi. But my point was that the cheese wasn’t even halloumi. We eat halloumi very often and that “something” put in my burger did not look like halloumi, didn’t taste like halloumi, and the texture of it was completely melted. The size of fish was a joke aswell. A large cod was actually very small. Horrible experience !! Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £10–20"

""Charming venue in a lovely village in Northamptonshire, right on the edge of Rutland. The term 'Sondes' refers to an instrument that automatically sends data from hard-to-reach places such as underground or underwater—I had to look that up! The pub is dog-friendly in the bar area, which is a great touch. The carvery is absolutely delightful, with everything made from scratch. It's truly one of the best I've ever had. They also offer fantastic afternoon teas, delicious starters, and incredible desserts. It's such a beautiful spot to enjoy delicious food. Unfortunately, the service left something to be desired. It was disappointing—staff seemed inattentive and not particularly engaged. However, the place was quite crowded, and they did a commendable job of keeping everyone happy, so credit goes to the staff. It seems there could be improvements in management or training, but I mention this kindly. Parking is available at the rear of the venue; just look for the entrance on the left before the pub as you head downhill. There is disabled parking at the back too, though there is a slope to consider. The restrooms are clean.
