"We spent three nights here in the rural village of Cottingham, close to Corby and Market Harborough. It proved to be an ideal base for visits to Oakham, Castle, the Rennie Mackintosh House in Northampton and the National Space Centre in Leicester. Our room was well laid out with nice furniture and a first rate en suite. Breakfasts, which were were included were brilliant full English with various partial versions available. The evening meals had limited options but they were of excellent quality at reasonable prices. There was a great range of beers also available at the bar. All the staff were polite, efficient and friendly.. We intend to go to the area and the Royal George again in the summer."

Had the Xmas menu last night, ham hock starter, turkey dinner and the cheesecake and it was all amazing. The food was so tasty and service was excellent

the royal george is a beautiful clean place to eat the service is brunette everyone got smile even renter and landwife I would recommend this place to everyone they very helpful

We went here on a whim, from the minute walking in the door to walking out the door the service was second to none. The food was amazing. I just have to say the pate is the best I've ever tasted.

Staff were welcoming, friendly and very attentive. The food was excellent, all home prepared and piping hot. Beautiful setting. Couldn't fault The Royal George at Cottingham. Best meal we have had in the area. Northants/Leicester.

Customer service was horrible. Waited about 2 hours for my food only for it to be the wrong order. Which I was also charged for even though I never ordered it in the first place. I was ignored when spoke to my waiter and asked for another drink. Had the bill thrown onto the table after I asked for it. Overall will not be returning! Or recommending this place.

We were staying at the Rockingham CL caravan site just outside the village, and popped in here after a lovely walk with the dog for some lunch (and a beer). A very friendly welcome, food was great and reasonably priced, and the real ale went down a treat. Even the dog was given a doggie treat! Definitely recommended to anyone else staying on the CL site who doesn't fancy cooking, especially as it just a 5 min walk away.
