"The worst and most expensive meal I've had for a long time. when we went into through the door and it was empty that should have told us what was going to happen. The staff were helpful and friendly. The waterfront view from the restaurant was good. The starter pigs tail was ok but the main was very chewy rib but not much flavor considering it was cooked on charcoal the steak was ok but nothing special we had 2 drinks each and the bill was £170 which is extremely over priced I could have had a better meal and same drinks for half the price. I would not of minded paying the price if it was a nice meal but it wasn't. Out side there's lots of people enjoying the street food from the other part would recommend that after talking to them .it's up to you if you want to try it good luck"

Amazing food, lots of flavour and I had duck cooked to perfection. Really fantastic service.

Great snacks, beer and meat course options. Vegetarian options limited, mushroom dish tasteless and staff unresponsive when this was pointed out. Nothing to fault with location and atmosphere.

The food at Trakol was delicious, we stayed for the roast but you can scan the app for street food outside. I also enjoyed the Wylam Brewery IPA which was a good accompaniment to the roast meat. View menu

The Sunday roast at this restaurant is fantastic. The meats are tender and delicious, and the vegetables are also very tasty. The staff are friendly, with Alice standing out for being especially nice and attentive. We ordered the lamb and the belly pork, and the photos don't do justice to how good they tasted.

This is a very nice experience. A very kind welcome as we had not booked and wanted to eat something different from the local offerings. Curried goat on toast was delicious! The vegetarian choice was very good, the tiramisu was outstanding. Service was super friendly, and we left feeling we had been visiting old friends. We will return.

My wife and I visited Trakol for the first time today and left in absolute awe of the food we had just eaten. We were there for Sunday lunch and between us tried the lamb and the pork belly, both of which were cooked to perfection. The cauliflower cheese stole the show. We made plans to return before we even left today's visit and told friends about it already. View menu

Modern simplistic vibes in this restaurant by the river. Great views of the Tyne with cool vibes. We went for the meat share platter and it was the highlight of our dinner but everything was lovely. Overall positive experience so youcan't go wrong with this one but nothing was too exceptional. Staff was helpful too. The toilet is outside as this is the way the place is set up so keep that in mind on the colder nights.

Fantastic restaurant, we were sat right next to the kitchen which was fascinating to watch, advised of my partner's dairy allergy on booking many months ago and they remembered this, mentioned it to us directly after seating us generally catered exceptionally for my partner throughout the evening, can't speak highly enough of the service we received, and that's all before even mentioning the food. We went for the beef feasting course, it was exceptional. Will return many times I'm sure.

"The place seems unprofessionally run. The staff all look like they could do with a bath. No overalls are worn and their clothes are all of the type that many would wear to lounge around the house in . Several have longer hair and beards but don’t wear any kitchen p.p.e. The decor is shabby and I wondered what kind of hygiene rating they would have. Although not busy, the staff seemed to be disorganised, falling over eachother and lacking in training. They seemed to handle the food in an inexperienced, clumsy fashion. The only tool I saw being used was a pizza peel for taking the pizza in and out of the oven. On all other occasions the food was handled. I didn’t notice any hand washing or alcohol gel in evidence. The menu is quite limited and uninspiring. 2 of the 6 pizza choices include chicken which Italians would argue is definite no no! All pizzas are reheated to order which eliminates the possibility of customisation. I don’t believe the restaurant would stand out in many European countries, as pizza in general is of a much higher standard than that in the UK. In spite of the above, The basic pizza is excellent in taste (even though it is all re-heated). And for this reason it is worth a visit. Compared to other uk pizza restaurants which are typically serving absolute garbage, the food is way out in front. If you can tolerate the negatives I’m sure you won’t be disappointed with the pizza. However with a bit of effort, this place could be transformed into something truly amazing."
