"We chose La Cenetta on the basis of the TA reviews, and walking to the restaurant on a cold, wet mid-week night in March we passed several restaurants that were almost empty. La Cenetta was almost full, and when we were seated it was clear that everyone else was a local. I can understand why. The food was excellent - the best meal we had in Berlin, and one of most enjoyable Italian meals I have had anywhere. Between us we had the lasagne, bolognese, and two spaghetti dishes - one with duck that was particularly nice. All were delicious, as were the deserts. There was a wide range that included pasta, pizzas, grilled fish, steaks, and a range of meat dishes. The wine was also very good - the Toscana was good, and the Primitivo even better. The service was perfect - we had no German (shamefully...) but they had an English menu, and the staff all spoke English to us without being condescending. The meal was also excellent value for money, and included free extras such as bread, bruschetta, and a coffee liquor."

I have been coming to this restaurant since 2007 as I work at a show at the Messe once a year and I have always found the food to be excellent along with the cosy atmosphere and smiley service you cannot go wrong here.

No fuss, simple good food. Under new ownership, some home made options. Very friendly service. Decor is a little old fashioned but food is unpretentious and great quality. Pizza is also excellent. I Highly recommend it.

The restaurant is located near the subway, however we still had some trouble finding it because it is located in a living area. Once we arrived we were welcomed by the friendly staff and sat down inside for dinner. The food was great and the service as well. Nothing to complain about. Furthermore I found it reasonably priced.

After having walked around Berlin for some 20km all day, my girl and I thought it best to seek a place close to the hotel and we both like Italian food (who doesn’t). La Cenetta boasts true Italian personnel (northern Italy), good free bruschetta and an excellent pizza for the price. If you are looking for a place to sit outside together with a lot of local Germans, this is highly recommendable. View menu

This place is really amazing because of many reasons. First of all, food is excellent with real Italian chef. Secondly, the ambiance of restaurant is awesome and beautifully decorated. You feel so comfortable there. Last but not least the staff are lovely and friendly. They treat you in a super nice and polite way. I totally recommend this lovely place to those who wanna test superb Italian cuisine in Berlin.

I visited this restaurant with my husband and the pizza we ordered were average. The service was also nice but nothing special. What I have to argue about are the toilets. The ladys toilet did not have any toilet paper and the restaurant wasnt full so that I can show understanding.I have had alot of italien food already but I dont think this is very special. But one thing i have to add is that I liked the decoration of the reastaurant ...

Reading so much about the place I came with high expectations. What can I say, service was the only professional thing in our dinner. The bread was tasteless (but for free) but the pasta was the weakest point. A restaurant that can't make a decent aglio olio is not a real Italian and this one apart from not being too exciting was even not Al dente. The other one with zucchini and gamberetti was just boring and again too soft. Sorry to say, but this place doesn't leave a mark. View menu

We have been to "La cenetta" twice. The first time we were a bit disappointed. Pizza wasn't good, but pasta wasn't bad. I didn't want to go back but for several reasons we ended up there again and we were actually pleased with it. Both times the service was amazing!! We were very welcomed since the beginning even though sometime the kids were making too much noise. As soon as you get in you get bread with oil and salt and a tomato bruschetta. The first time the bruschetta was terrible, but this time was actually good. This second time we all had pasta (or risotto) and caprese. Eveything was tasty and we were all very happy. Finally we found polite people in a restaurant in Berlin, this is a...

The staff was very helpful and considerate --- so thoughtful that it was more like visiting them in their home. It was a Tuesday night and the restaurant was busy, but not full. We entered with 5 and they quickly moved two tables together to accommodate us (I always worry with 5 that they'll try to cram us into a space for 4 and I just don't like cramped eating spaces). Our meals were very good, and the prices were quite reasonable: in fact, I haven't had food this good for this price in a while. Another thing that I appreciated was that the restaurant was not noisy -- we had a very pleasant conversation without strain. So now you know my 4 likes: pleasant, efficient staff; good food; clean,...
