"Truva, located in Towcester, has only been open for a few weeks and I had high expectations after reading the positive reviews on TripAdvisor. Unfortunately, I left feeling a bit let down. The staff were friendly and attentive, and I couldn't fault them. The courtyard location and the ambience and decor inside the restaurant were also great. However, I found the food to be disappointing. My wife and I started with the hot mezze which was uninspiring and a small portion for two people. The kebabs we ordered were very chewy and dry. Many British tourists have experienced authentic Turkish cuisine while on holiday in Turkey, but the food at Truva did not feel very authentic. The Turkish food at the nearby Olive Garden, just 500m away, is generally much better. I was genuinely disappointed as I was hoping for this new restaurant to be good. Hopefully, they can improve the food as everything else about the restaurant was very good."

"We started with hummus and delicious complimentary bread, followed by the lamb ribs and the Olive Tree Special (their mixed grill), allowing us to sample a variety of dishes from the menu. We were not disappointed – the food was absolutely incredible! The lamb was so tender it just melted in our mouths, and the flavors were out of this world. There was a minor hiccup during the evening when the fire alarm went off, but it didn't ruin our experience. I must apologize for a couple at the table next to us; their behavior was shameful as they threatened to leave a negative review on Facebook and tried to get a free meal after they had already finished eating when the alarm went off. Despite the chaos, the manager was quick to address the situation. He and his staff were running around trying to resolve the issue while our waitress apologized on his behalf. Once the alarm was silenced, the manager personally visited every table to apologize and offered everyone a complimentary round of drinks. The alarm incident certainly didn't mar our evening, nor did it deter us from coming back. We're looking forward to our next visit. A special shoutout to our waitress, Viktorija, for being so wonderful and handling some difficult customers with such grace. See you soon!"

"A warm welcome, friendly and attentive staff. Perhaps not the easiest of places to find, even if you do know your way around as it 's hidden away in a quiet back street in an already quiet village location. We were quickly seated on arrival and drinks soon sorted. An adequate choice on the Sunday Lunch menu, including traditional Sunday Roasts and pub classics. Vegan and vegetarian options. A nice touch that although my wife chose a main that was shown as vegan on the menu, they thoughtfully asked if she was indeed vegan (or vegetarian) before the food arrived so as to tailor accompanying veg/roasties/yorkshire pud accordingly. Starters, mains and desserts were all simply presented, without excessively flamboyant garnishes etc but that 's no criticism, just an observation the food itself was very good indeed. Really enjoyed our starter roasted asparagus with garlic mushrooms. Only minor criticism being that one of the sides (cauliflower cheese) was a bit over browned. Swiftly noted by server and a replacement offered (but declined it really was no big deal). I had the classic beer batter fish with chunky chips. Menu said mushy peas but regular petit pois were served. Superb chunky chips and chef really nailed that beer batter (apparently using Hooky ale seems to work well at any rate delightfully light batter with no soggy bits or over hard bits either). Generous portions all round, so both of us elected to leave a little room for our desserts We both enjoyed our meal and will doubtless be back at some point in the near future."

"Imagine going to a countryside pub with rustic charm and character that serves upmarket, restaurant quality food with professional service. That is exactly this place. I think I was actually shocked at how tasty the food was as you get used to the typical pub grub that gets served up at most places which is generally greasy and lacking taste. We ordered the steak beef burger and the vegetable cheese Wellington and couldn't stop talking about it on the car journey home. Reasonably priced and qe felt the food was a tier above other local pubs we have eaten at. Would bring my family here next time for sure!"

"ABSOLUTELY beautiful, GORGEOUS food (I'm NOT a vegetarian)!!!! But I opted for the broccoli n stilton pie as it just sounded yummmmmmy...I and My Family were not dissapointed...Food was out of this world,Quaint little pub on the outside, but inside it was packed, byt everyone was seen to and served very quickly..excellent service, The staff were very friendly, I tripped and cut my head as I was going to the toilet(NO NOT DRUNK), The Bar Lady,came over quickly,gave me some ice in a towel,which helped stop the swelling..she could not of done anything more to help,she aaid she had to put it in the accident book,I said I was only visiting and didn't live around here ,she said NO its got to be written in the accident book. I cannot Thank the staff enough for a really beautiful evening..
