"A warm welcome, friendly and attentive staff. Perhaps not the easiest of places to find, even if you do know your way around as it 's hidden away in a quiet back street in an already quiet village location. We were quickly seated on arrival and drinks soon sorted. An adequate choice on the Sunday Lunch menu, including traditional Sunday Roasts and pub classics. Vegan and vegetarian options. A nice touch that although my wife chose a main that was shown as vegan on the menu, they thoughtfully asked if she was indeed vegan (or vegetarian) before the food arrived so as to tailor accompanying veg/roasties/yorkshire pud accordingly. Starters, mains and desserts were all simply presented, without excessively flamboyant garnishes etc but that 's no criticism, just an observation the food itself was very good indeed. Really enjoyed our starter roasted asparagus with garlic mushrooms. Only minor criticism being that one of the sides (cauliflower cheese) was a bit over browned. Swiftly noted by server and a replacement offered (but declined it really was no big deal). I had the classic beer batter fish with chunky chips. Menu said mushy peas but regular petit pois were served. Superb chunky chips and chef really nailed that beer batter (apparently using Hooky ale seems to work well at any rate delightfully light batter with no soggy bits or over hard bits either). Generous portions all round, so both of us elected to leave a little room for our desserts We both enjoyed our meal and will doubtless be back at some point in the near future."

Great pub, great people, great location. We were out for a group motorcycle ride along Northamptonshire's byways. Called in on the way home. The beer is first class. We only had the one as we were riding. However, we will be back with a view to having a meal as the pub has a good reputation for its ale and food.

Lovely old world pub nestled in a gorgeous village. Went in to a lovely welcome, ordered wonderful billings ate mussels in cream, husband had scampi. Food was served quickly and was really nice. Very homely cosy and relaxing. Toilets spotless and the Handryer was state of art, cannot fault this place at all. When we are in that area again we will certainly be back View menu

As always excellent meal excellent service. Our only disappointment is inconsiderate drivers parking in the disabled parking area. My wife is registered disabled and we frequently use this venue and on each occasion we have been unable to park in this area. Not one of the vehicles displaying a blue badge. I know it is difficult to enforce these notices but it would make oue visits even more enjoyable.

We came and had the most wonderful Sunday lunch ever!!! The service and warmth from the staff were top notch and the food was plentiful and beautiful.the only thing I would say but it's my preference is I like my roasties done crispy on the outside but they were still lovely thankyou everyone for looking after us and for making our Sunday lunch a wonderful time with our friends and family get together.

The New Inn has been regularly recommended by friends, but we found it very disappointing when visiting with family for Sunday Lunch. It started badly because diners at an adjacent table had two dogs and the smell was overwhelming. In my opinion dogs should not be allowed at tables where people are eating I would have walked out in other circumstances. The food was average at best. On the plus side there is a very good welcome and the staff are good. View menu

We were recommended the fish at this restaurant and were not disappointed. Salmon gravilax, tuna sashimi, scampi and lobster. On arrival we were ushered in past a very busy bar to a quieter restaurant. We could watch the bar service from a distance which was great. Our sever was friendly and went out of her way to describe the menu for me (theprint was small and I had just had an eye operation). Everything was freshly cooked, tasty and served with a smile. Not over expensive either. We'll certainly be back for more delicious fish treats.

We were told about this place when we stayed in a local Airbnb and it did not disappoint. The staff, and indeed the local clientele, were all very friendly and welcoming when we first arrived. It is a nice, busy little pub tucked away in lovely little village. The landlord was particularly friendly and we had a lovely chat about our stay and how they had managed the pandemic and were doing well. The food was very tasty, as shown by the number of bookings he had in, with the roast dinners particularly prevalent. We had walked for about an hour and a half to get to this pub and after a 'few ' beers and the meal we were not too keen to walk back, so the landlord was very helpful in securing us...

"we had read very good reviews about the green room, me and 2 friends who have not seen themselves for a few years decided to go for the afternoon. we telephoned, booked afternoon tea and paid our deposit 2 days before. when we arrived. the waiter took us on our table and said: “I’m sorry, but the system didn’t update, so they didn’t know that we wanted to go the afternoon.” that seemed very strange when they had taken the deposit from us 2 days ago! the waiter said we had to order from the normal midday menu. after we had eaten our salad! we wanted to order 3 coffees, I asked the waitress if we could order coffee, her answer was: “It’s difficult because I don’t have a pen!” I didn’t reply, there are only 3 coffees and cakes. I then asked about the bill that lasted about 15 minutes when they finally arrived, they had not taken the deposit we had previously paid, and the waitress said: "She must talk to the manager, I explained that I stayed 10 minutes on the parking lot, so she could be fast. When I asked her what happened to the bill she said, they must go into the bar and sort it with the manager. I was very annoyed by the lack of customer service, not only had they forgotten our afternoon, but had also accused the wrong crowd. he was quite arrogant and served other people and let us wait. he said he would take £11 for the mistake with the afternoon! it is a shame that eating and the environment is very beautiful. Unfortunately, the customer service makes this place so much down. it is safe to say we will never return or will not recommend it to one of our friends."
