"Stayed at the Turf Hotel for a two day break. Room was very clean, bed comfy and had all the basics, en suite shower, TV, kettle etc. Breakfast was included and more than enough. Had an evening meal which was very good and the staff...are friendly and unobtrusive. All in all you simply can not fault this place at all. It’s not five star, it’s not four star but you’re not paying that kind of money. The only downside to Richmond is the virtually non existent parking facilities. You spend an hour driving around a one way system on steep cobbled roads trying to find a spot. I’m sure they lose huge amounts of money as people just give up and go away. Come on Richmond council get your act together!!!!"

Bar staff were lovely and accommodating but security were rude and unwelcoming. I won’t be returning.

Very clean and tidy place, lovely helpful staff. We went as a family of 4 plus our dog came too. The food was very good pub grub and was served nice and hot.

Went inside and was td to go outside and wait. Waited for 20 minutes and staff were still all cowering inside. Pubs like this will soon close their doors... And quite right too. View menu

We ate here twice and both times the meals were so very tasty, Hunters chicken and Ribs, then we stopped for a Sunday lunch a two course the starters were really good but the slow roast beef was amazing the gravy had beef bits in...not runny stuff with no taste (proper gravy) would most definitely eat here again.

cried tonight my partner and his son found her meals ok I had the steak and mushroom puss thinking the mushrooms had up and left the torte needed a bite to cut it the maese was nice just a scandal over. the cake service was simply ok but I think because it seemed short personalized the bonus is I just realized that I can cook a good pub meal

Visited today July 26th, got to say how lovely it all was, slow roasted beef and roast pork- the meat just melted in your mouth! Best home made (huge Yorkshire puddings we've had in a pub for a long time. All the vegetables were 1st...class, creamy mashed potatoes, and a nice large jug of gravy!! Excellent service from friendly professional staff- we'll definitely be popping in again!

we were over and discovered this place as the next one we were parked. ordered drinks and eating and found a table my beer was not very nice, but I was distracted by my eating that arrived in a few minutes from me, sitting. the meat was edible, but everything else was over poor. yorkshire pudding was flat and undercooked, veg was brewed and tasteless, roasted kartoffel had a strange taste and the small piece of maic kartoffel was appalling. we had almost two tellers eat and my drink. toilets were visited on the way out and as expected were not clean enough.

"We arrived frazzled because we drove around the grounds in the dark not knowing where to go. The signage inside the grounds is no help at all. Allow time for this if you haven't been before. Fortunately we had because we wanted a pre dinner drink in the bar before we ate. Even when we did arrive we weren't sure if we had arrived at the back entrance because we stood for ages with no welcome or acknowledgement. A very disappointing start to our evening. When someone did come they didn't take our coats. We went through to the snug for a drink. They gave us menus and went away. Later came back for our order. We got our drinks and ordered our food. Then very quickly afterwards we were asked to go through to the restaurant. We had only had a couple of sips of our drinks and it was still prior to the time we had actually booked our table for (7.30pm). We felt rushed. The food came and was fabulous. I had the beetroot starter which had beautifully cooked beetroots and some pickles. It also had a grain through it. I couldn't remember what the grain was so asked a member of staff. She didn't know so went away to ask and came back saying it was probably buckwheat....probably! My main was pork belly with parsnip and an apple reduction. The pork could have been cooked a little longer. I think belly needs to be very well cooked until really soft. The top skin was impossible to cut through as it was not crisp, I couldn't eat it. A steak knife would have helped. Having said that it was still a good dish which could have been excellent. We had sides of mashed potato and greens with pickles both superb. The presentation of both dishes was innovative and inviting. Portion size was good too not tiny portions of fiddled with food which I much prefer. The service was not as polished as the food. There was no obvious manager and we had different servers which is never quite as good as one for the entire meal. The servers were scruffy not appropriate for such a lovely building. Overall it was OK but could have been superb with more attention to some details. Service: 2 Location: 3"
