"Brunch aside, which is usually quite good (like the coffee in Tusk! The food here is usually average. BUT service was very courteous and friendly, cocktails were great, and the Sharing Board is a safe option for sociable food with friends if you want to sit somewhere and pick up for an evening on the bog for a few hours. Food could and should be better, but it is still a decent option if you stay on the more basic options. In addition, they are switched on to nutritional requirements such as GF with a special GF menu on request and GF bread pizza options etc."

The online booking process was easy and the food was absolutely delicious, no further explanation needed.

Pretty averageNice looking menu and some dishes are good but having eaten here a few times now it's certainly lacking something.

My family and I go to Tusk every week and we are always pleased with the food and the staff who are consistently friendly and accommodating. They always go above and beyond to make sure we have a great experience.

Went on a Sat night for dinner with friends. The music was very loud and not really dining friendly, it was hard to hear each other. When the DJ came in the music improved and was clear the aim was for a bar feel rather than restaurant. Food was lovely.

Saturday before Christmas 5.45pm, booked in advance. They had run out of gin, bearnaise sauce and noodles. The lighting is awful-basically red/orange lights, we all had to use our phone torches to read the menus and for the kids to do their colouring. Food was nice but didn’t really make up for a disappointing experience! Unfiltered photo below! View menu

Overall a pleasant experience, nice decor and good choices for brunch. The only thing which concerned me a great deal was when our food came it was served by a lad which I can only describe had blood on his hands and when dealing with food this is very worrying. He’d obviously cut it moments before but he should have dealt with this before dealing with our food.

We made a reservation at this restaurant based on their website's claim of offering gluten-free options, as two of our party members have celiac disease. We specifically requested gluten-free meals, but after ordering drinks and not receiving them, we were informed that they no longer offer gluten-free options. Disappointed, we left without having the drinks. The website definitely needs to be updated to reflect the current menu offerings.

"Alborz is a wonderful hidden gem in Levenshulme that serves a variety of Persian and Middle-Eastern food, located on Stockport Rd you could be forgiven for thinking that Alborz is as unassuming as it's humble exterior suggests. However, what lies behind those modest doors is truly fantastic restaurant both in terms of food and service. The interior is understated and tasteful, furnished with Persian vases and ornate tea sets, the tables are close together to make the most of the limited space available but this lends a refreshing communal atmosphere to your meal. The staff were friendly and attentive and more than happy to talk you through the menu and explain the various dishes. We ordered the Mezze Platter to start, this consists of four different starters, and is ideal if you're not overly familiar with Persian cuisine, the homemade hummus was a particular highlight being both fresh and tasty. We then ordered the Alborz special grill for two, which looks as wonderful as it tastes, succulent skewers of koobideh and chicken accompanied by grilled vegetables, saffron rice and a freshly baked taltoon bread which was frankly quite ridiculous in its magnificence and is so large it came supplied with its own stand. This was a true delight to eat and I can highly recommend it. After all of that, we were overloaded with food and couldn't possibly consider having dessert and so, asked for the bill, which led to true surprise of the evening, all of this wonderfully authentic and fresh food came to a grand total of £42. This reflects tremendous value in a time where a meal for two can often prove quite expensive. Overall I would say that Alborz is definitely worth visiting if you're in the area and if you're not well then it's worth making the trip for. If you're a fan of Persian food or perhaps want to try something new then you would genuinely struggle to find such a quality dining experience at this price point."
