"This place is pretty amazing. You get fresh pasta made right in front of you in a beautiful huge 2 level seating area with outlets (a good number of them didn 't seem to be working though) and free wifi. When you walk in, you have to get a card from the cashier sitting directly in front of the door. Your order is 'charged ' on this card inside and you give the card back and pay on your way out. I did not know this and he rudely called out to me as I was walking past him, just for me to wait 5 mins not even 2 feet away for him to finish checking out a few customers to give me a card. He did not even seem to acknowledge me until I approached him when he was done. The whole time I watched him hand cards out to other customers whom were walking in and said hi to him. Obviously they were regulars and I had no idea this was how things worked. But whatever, he was nice when I eventually spoke with him. Right by the cashier, there 's a screen that provides translated menu in a whole range of languages. When you walk all the way to the back, you can get a menu by the counter, but it 'll be in French. You line up according to the type of food you want to order pasta, salad, pizza etc. and wait your turn. It 's going to be a while depending on the time of day, but your dish is made right in front of you! The staff members all seem to speak some English. There 's also a big, clean bathroom upstairs."

I am a sucker for beautiful interior design and this restaurant nails it. A beautiful place with regular but still very tasty, fresh Italian dishes. They offer a good selection of vegetarian meals and the service is quite fast. Can't wait to come back!

We found this restaurant next to our hotel in Lausanne. We were a little confused at first (not speaking French didn't help) but soon got the idea. The food is all very fresh and cooked right in front of you, the pasta is made on the premises as well.In our few days staying at Hotel Continental we went twice.Highly recommended

This is a peculiar self-service restaurant where you load your order to a card that you receive at the entrance and pay at the exit. The dishes are freshly prepared while waiting in the line. With regard to main dishes, four types of pasta are vegan marked: Arrabiata, Pomodoro, Aglio e Olio and Ratatouille. The Aglio e Olio I tried was pretty good, the Bruschetta is just okay.

Because of its location close to the train station, I went to Vapiano just to have a drink while commuting by train. It turned out getting my mineral water and coffee for my friend was overly complex: 1) get an RFID card at the entrance 2) had to queue for a long time to get the mineral water 3) go to the bar and get the coffee 4) on the wait out pay the amount on the RFID card.

I like the concept here and will try it again, but I was underwhelmed by my experience. I walked in early so maybe that's to blame, but I had a train to catch and wanted to get dinner for the ride. There were only few people there but it took ~10 minutes or so for me to even get my order it. Then it was slowly made, but the saucisse was missing. Promising, but the sauce hadtoo much cream and the vegetables were underdone. Luckily, the pasta wasn't over cooked which would have been a deal breaker. I'll try again and eat in for dinner at a normal time and see how it fares.

On the recommendation of our tour director, we ate here for dinner. When you enter you are given an RFID card which you then present to the individual making your dinner. There are different stations (e.g. pizza, pasta, antipasto, salads) where you order from the menu and they make the dish while you wait. My husband had a calzone which was really large filled with salami and cheese (quite good), while I ordered risotto - knew I was taking a chance, but the risotto was extremely good. We were quite pleased with the value of the food, as well as how good everything tasted - and of course everything was hot since they're making it in front of you.

So. Last night before the movies we quickly entered vapiano for pizza. The concept is very cool. There are several cantines with pasta, pizza etc. And each table has unpicked aromatic herbs for you dishes as well as a very nice hot sauce and other sauces. We ordered the diabola. Wich was very good abd of a considerable size.We also tasted the tea wich was very nice although a bit too sweet. The system works like this. You ask at the counter and they give you an alarm for when its ready. There is also a bar for drinks which we have not tried.Overall the pizza and the oil hot sauce were indeed nice. The space is also goos. The concept of fresh herbs is very cool although some were in desperate n...

I went at Vapiano in Lausanne for dinner and I choosed the pizza Barbecue. In the description of the Ingredients there was not mention to spicy sauces. When the pizza arrived it was so so spicy. I was trying to eat that and i gave also a slice of pizza so my friend could taste which had the same opinion as me. I called the Manager, Fernanda, which was rude and arrogant. She denied at all that it was spicy. In my opinion I think they made confusion with another pizza. But they dont gave the chance to investigate if it was an error in the kitchen. That kind of stuff can happen, but the way i was treated was not the correct one. Thez not asked the cook what happened. That mamager insisted many...

While I was in Lausanne Switzerland, my boyfriend and I happened to stumble upon this place while we were looking for a place to eat one night. I really enjoyed the concept of this place and how many different options they had for you to choose from. You take a plastic card at the beginning, one per person, go up to the station you want, order, and then they cook your food and you scan the card on the sensor and it loads your order. You eat and then pay at the end. I ended up choosing the Risotto con Speck, which had a variety of different things in it (tomatoes, peas, carrots, bacon, and things I cant remember) and boy was it delicious. The portion size was also a good one and it left me fe...
