"Visited the Percy twice this week as I was staying with my sister to celebrate her 50th Birthday, then my son's the day after. It's always very difficult to find vegan options on a menu when eating out with family, but the Percy had a few. My first meal was recommended by Jess, and it was very delicious (tofu noodle salad but I felt it was very over priced for what it was and only had about 6 pieces of tofu with it. My partner had the plant burger, which she enjoyed, but again, being charged at the same price for a meat burger. Our next visit,I really wasn't prepared to pay the same price for the vegan option of fish and chips(£18.95 as it would have been either tempeh with seaweed in batter ,or tofu again possibly?. So I went with the soup of the day and a side order of chips ,soup was ok ,but not hot enough when it arrived. My partner had the burger again as the only different option was the vegan option fish and chips, which ,I'm sorry ,but how can you justify charging the same as the actual fish and chips ?? We were presented with lite bites menus too, which had no vegan option at all, even though the chap waiting on us did check if there was anything we could have. He informed us that all the bread had milk in,so we then had to check that the plant burger bun was actually vegan. I'm sorry , but for such a reputable establishment, with tonnes of excellent reviews,I expected you to have the vegan options nailed and at a reasonable price, reflecting the fact no meat or dairy is involved. My sister (the meat eater had an ham hock sandwich, which had knuckle bone within the sandwich, which she luckily didn't break a tooth or choke on. We informed the waiter ,who said he would tell the chef, and that's as far as it went. Now my sister lives local, and as a perk of being a villager, they receive a discount when eating in the Percy, which is fantastic and such a lovely way to take care of the locals . That said , I'm still not impressed with the lack of concern for the bone found in the sandwich,as if ,well we had the discount, what more do you want, which isn't acceptable at all. The over priced and lack of vegan options,I'm not asking for a separate menu ,but it definitely needs some thought and price revising. That said ,the pub is beautiful, the staff are warm and welcoming, and it has a lovely cosy feel to it ."

I went to this restaurant with a big group for a meal. The service was great and the food was delicious as well. Some dishes were a bit pricey, but overall it was not too bad. View menu

Great pub for food and drinks. Plenty little cosy nooks to sit in. Staff are pleasant and welcoming. As with all pubs the atmosphere can vary with the visitors in that night as there are weddings next door at the same venue. Parking can be limited at busy times. Would recommend booking in advance for food service. Location: 4

The staff at this restaurant is very friendly. The main course was incredibly delicious, especially the smoked salmon which was the best I've ever had. It was melt-in-your-mouth perfection. The Parmesan and truffle fries were also amazing. The Maltesers crepe was decent, but the crepe itself was not up to par. Overall, I would rate the service and location a 4 out of 5. View menu

We stopped by the bar for a couple of drinks and found it to be very warm and cozy on a chilly night. We plan on returning to try the food, as it looked very appetizing. However, it's important to make a reservation in advance as weddings are held next door and given priority. Parking can be a challenge, so it's best to allow extra time and be prepared to park on the roadside.
