"My biggest criticism is that Yeungs is cash only. There are often unsavoury reasons for businesses to operate this way. Otherwise, a perfectly adequate takeaway. The food is not consistently good but overall it is okay. Prawn Crackers were greasy, egg fried rice was mostly lacking egg, conversely the crispy beef is really rather nice. I'd be tempted to return if they accepted card payments. Service: Take out"

"My partner and I stopped by this restaurant on our way back to our cottage after taking our dog for a walk along the river across from the pub. They were only serving roast pork or beef for lunch, so we decided to order three beef lunches. As someone who is gluten-free, I was able to eat everything except for the Yorkshire Pudding, which I gave to my partner. The meals were all delicious and the bartender was very friendly and talkative. I would recommend this place if you are visiting Colyford or stopping at the Seaton tram stop, as it is conveniently located next door."

"We 've just moved to the town. You and Me was closed tonight, so thought id try china chef. I so regret it. We had 2 types of chow mein, a rice dice and 2 types of chicken sweet and sour dishes. None of them tasted like they should and we threw the most of it in the bin. If we are not ill tomorrow i will be surprised. I am even more surprised that there was a queue when i walked in (usually a good sign on a sunday night). The 'chef ' who took my order was wearing a filthy apron, the place looks very tired and quite dirty and the manner of the service was quite rude. All a sign that there is little passion and a lack of pride in what they do. But my biggest compliant is that the food was simply disgusting and the worst takeaway i have ever eaten. AVOID"

"Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1 The service at this restaurant was terrible, with unattentive staff and slow responses to our requests. The atmosphere was also lacking, with dim lighting and a dull decor that did not create a welcoming ambiance. Overall, our experience at this restaurant was very disappointing."

"This is a wonderful little gem of a restaurant. I visited with some friends last night for a Christmas gathering, and we were impressed right from the beginning. The cozy dining area felt intimate and inviting. The menu consisted of dishes made with simple ingredients but cooked with great care. We tried venison, turkey, gravadlax, sausages, soup, profiteroles, and cheesecake, and every dish was delicious. What topped it all off was the very reasonable prices. We were full after three courses, and it only cost £33 each. I also appreciated that we were asked to pre-order our meals, which showed that the chef cares about reducing food waste. I would recommend this place to anyone. Bravo!"

"We've ordered a few times and always been ok. This time was awful and we won't be ordering again. They advertise Diet Coke but then send Pepsi, my kebab was so soggy it disintegrated, so couldn't be eaten properly, it was inedible. I called the resturaunt to see if I could get some money back and whoever I spoke to on the phone was so rude, he really needs to learn customer service. He told me to deal with Just eat if I was unhappy really helpful and 5 start customer service!"

"Went in for breakfast…. Wife had traditional English …. Super local products cooked to perfection My choice was locally caught fresh mackerel on toast, fresh from the sea. Perfectly filleted and skinned and cooked to perfection…. So moist and so fresh Shaun the chef is an excellent chef and it shows in the quality of his preparation and cooking…. But also with the selection of locally sourced products which means the “specials “ change daily Kelly, front of house helps complete the team, to make this place so popular Lovely aired feel inside the restaurant with local art work on the walls, some for sale, and decorated as a seaside restaurant should be Pass this place and you will miss a great dining experience. WELL WORTH BOOKING AT BUSY TIMES"

"I recently visited a café called The Fuel Station in Sidmouth. We stumbled upon this charming little cafe in a small alleyway. Our visit was delightful - the food was beautifully presented, and we had the best cup of tea we've had in a long time. The lady who served us was lovely and friendly, and the prices were surprisingly good. We will definitely be visiting The Fuel Station again when we are in Sidmouth."

"I've sat in a couple of times recently an stayed for a short while and I have never been made to feel pressured on that I should leave after I have finished my coffee lunch. Very generous portion sizes always leaving me full with fresh ingredients delivered whilst I was there! Quick to be seated and attended to and an excellent range of food to suit all dietary requirements and preferences. The owner himself is very knowledgeable about coffee with a large selection of teas and coffees to try slowly making my way through the list! Although the smoothies appear small do not be fooled as they will still fill you up and are very fresh with a good selection of flavor combinations. Sadly limited outdoor seating alongside a road however the interior is full of plants and decorated very stylishly. A hidden (or not so hidden if your local) secrete of Axminister."

"not much to say about eating, with mcdonald’s wysiwyg. my main attack is the personal. I waited for my order on Friday afternoon and listened to me what manager/ supervisor appeared to speak with who would make a squaddie blood. the speech was not. held on everyone, only used in general conversation between themselves while using the service counter. there were a few children in the ohr, I hope they were worrying. I've never seen such a loveless baptism. one of the males looked as if he had been sitting in a buoyant cement dust. the older weeping is just too scary to be in front of the house."

"My partner and I have visited Beer on quite a few occasions in the last few years and we absolutely love it there. On our last trip down in May we discovered this little Jem of a place. There is a lovely relaxing atmosphere and...the owners of the place are just delightful and very accommodating. The cocktail selection is good, and I was so very happy to see my favourite White Russian on there. They offer a selection of nibbles to enjoy with your cocktails which is really nice. I would highly recommend this place for a lovely relaxing evening, enjoying some if your favourite cocktails"

"that was a very last minute decision, could no longer have been satisfied with the result. room was immaculate, personal was friendly and very helpful. they need to reserve a table for the restaurant as it is popular. eating is great some very varied and...local starter then supported with some great pub favorites for the net. the breakfast is also of the highest quality. if I can find another excuse to visit the opposite, then I would certainly stay back and recommend it for family and friends."

"We had dinner here on Friday 19 January 2024. Unfortunately, we came away really disappointed in respect of the food. The staff were friendly and helpful and the general atmosphere is pleasant, but the quality of the food relative to the cost is just wholly disproportionate, in our opinion. The menu is limited in our opinion. We resorted to having fish and chips and shepherd's pie. Overall, the food we had, in our opinion is comparable to what you would get in a pub chain such as the Hungry Hotse or at best Harvester say. This would be fine if the price point reflected that, but it does not. Unfortunately, we would not recommend and what not come back. You can go elsewhere and have a much better dining experience at this price point."

"Blackdown catered the Friday evening of our wedding in Huntsham Court. From our initial enquiry all the way through to tidying up on the day, Lex and the team were an absolute joy to deal with and just made life very easy for us. All our guests are still raving about the pizza which was delicious. Do not hesitate to book Blackdown for your catering needs, they are brilliant!"

"This was our first visit to the Hong Kong Chinese restaurant, we were passing and stopped on the off chance they would have space, and they fitted us in no problem. It has the usual Chinese restaurant decor, pretty in a kitsch way. Unassuming and helpful staff, led to an unpretentious and relaxed atmosphere, some 90’s pop tunes playing unobtrusively in the background. We enjoyed this very much, starting with the special mixed hors d'oeuvres for two, the seaweed especially was chunkier than our usual takeaway back home, and we enjoyed it immensely. Presented nicely, no peanut sauce on the satay, but it had a good flavour and didn’t need it. For the mains we had sweet and sour chicken Hong Kong style, mixed veg and crispy chilli beef with coconut egg fried rice. Well what an absolute pleasure. The sweet and sour had a vinegar undertone and the usual sweet flavour but not overly sweet and was cooked fresh and very delicious. The mixed veg had a slight crunch and the crispy chilly beef, had a different sauce again, but the batter was light crispy and melted in your mouth. Portion sizes were just right, maybe a touch smaller than some Chinese restaurants I’ve been to, but we’re were pleased with this, we didn’t feel too full afterwards and might have been able to comfortably fit in a dessert, and will do that next time we visit. The coconut egg friend rice was really good too, very aromatic. The only negative was the size of the drinks, my mineral water glass was half the size of my partners coke and it would have been nice to have had a proper glass full. Just a minor niggle. Reasonably priced nonetheless, £48 for the whole meal. I’d definitely recommend, and we will be going back. We really enjoyed the flavours, I haven’t had such a tasty and flavourful fresh Chinese like this for a long time. Again the crispy chilli beef was so light and crispy it will be hard to beat and highly recommended."

"The fresh baguette made for us was amazing! The panini was also delicious, with a unique bread base and delicious flavors. They had a good selection of side samples as well. Just make sure to get there early before they run out after the lunch rush! I can't wait to try the cake next time. The macaroon was amazing too. I also appreciate that they have a loyalty system in place. The only thing that could make it better would be if they offered bagels as well."

"We called into the Tea Cosy last week when the inspectors called ! We had lunch which was very good . The men had a ploughman’s and we had jacket potatoes. The ingredients were fresh and tasty. We had to wait awhile because of the inspectors visit! A bowl of crisps was brought out and extra tea and coffee. We were horrified to hear that the inspector was downgrading the hygiene rating because they did not have the paperwork on the premises that day, the bin was plastic not metal and that an extractor fan was missing in the toilet !! I can honestly say that the Tea Cosy is well worth a visit and everything was very clean -you can see the kitchen and facilities when you walk through to the toilet. The ladies work very hard . We will definitely visit again"

"Now the shackles of a large pub chain have been cast off, Nick runs in my view the best local freehouse in the area. It is a welcoming village pub serving an excellent selection of local real ales at excellent prices at the time of writing £3.30 for an excellent pint of Gun Dog direct from the cellar. In winter there is a welcoming fire in the bar, and the pub serves good simple pub grub at great prices nothing fancy or pretentious, just the sort of place to pop down to if you can't be bothered to cook one evening. There is a lot going on skittles many evenings, a pub quiz even a ukulele evening on a Monday night. A great place to meet up with friends and/or locals. Sometimes there is football on the TV, but when that's not happening the TV disappears behind a purpose built cover in a very sympathetic way which transforms the bar back to a welcoming local retreat. It's so good to see the pub now as a freehouse; it's well worth a visit."

"We used to go to the Rising Sun for the monthly quiz which, obviously but sadly, has been suspended until this current nuisance is beaten and the world returns to the old normal. It didn't stop us from going there on Monday last week and again last Thursday and our tables were suitably separated, being far enough apart to be safe but without our needing to shout. There was a plentiful supply of hand gel at the entrance and we had to give our contact details. We also had to wear a face covering when away from our tables so all necessary safety measures were in place. Unsurprisingly, the main menu is a little limited for the time being but there's a new small plate menu which offered over a dozen options and we took full advantage of the variety available. Excellent value for money doesn't begin to describe it! There's a good range of beers, ciders and wines to choose from, not to mention the huge number of spirits. It was a great shame that, unlike on quiz nights, there were not very many other people in the pub apart from the four of us on both nights as Andy and Nikki deserve all the support they can get at the moment, not that they don't anyway but it's all the more important in the present circumstances. Thanks again to them for making both our visits entirely enjoyable and memorable."
