Dried chilies hanging from the ceiling, accompanied by the odd smoked pig leg, channel the two great loves of my life: spice and pork. The Route Cafe sprawls outside onto Dalston Square – a boon if this summer hadn’t proved to be so wet. Location: Cafe Route, Dalston, London. Camera: iPhone

located below the dalston library is the cafe route, a busy cafe and deli from the nearby eastern and europe. the husband and wife team melek murat and their business partners/long-term students mehmet share a passion for eating and are inspired by their local environment and various backgrounds. I visited this facility with a friend. came to the breakfast in london when we were right next to him. the food was so good! we ordered the avocado on toast with fried eggs and the iron benedict. with a side of Hiumi cheese. also a fresh orange juice. the service was fast and they were very friendly.

they come back to this caffe. so nice eating, nice personal, beautiful vibes, nice quantity and amazing salads. their selection of salads are so amazing, tasty and not boring at all. the staff is also very well maintained after our eating took a few minutes longer than normal and they did not let us pay.

I needed a quick fee to get us to exeter. I have made sweat that I would get our son a vegan milkshake when I migrated to the diner. Deep and see, there was a happy cow sticker in the window. the heifer milk coughs oreo shake. they said they can also add vegan ice cream when they have it. such a beautiful surprise and not too expensive all the things considered. could stop again and check the food. Cafe Route is my local multifunctional food depot, which combines very conveniently a very nice and cosy restaurant, a groceries store on late weekday nights, a bakery on Saturday mornings, and a mini-version of in-house Borough market with some lovely cheeses, olives and cakes. Living approximately metres away, for me Route is too local to give a sense of going out for food, however dining out in this place on Christmas eve was an utterly pleasant experience, heightened by the fact that it was pretty much the only decent restaurant in the area dare to stay open on the night of Food is simple, but high-quality and tasty – for me this is always a winning combination. "We had two dinners and breakfast from this restaurant because we stayed in the Home Farm Hotel. We wanted to have the dinner and breakfast during our stay, but had to cancel our plans due to VERY POOR customer service received from Richard and also...because of his wife's cooking due to overcooked and burned full cook breakfast we received from the restaurant. Day 1, Richard introduced his wife to us, but she totally ignored us and in addition, she did not even bother to acknowledged and smiled with us. She seems to be very upset or very distance from everything or stressed/fed up about something at the time. Not sure this was due to over working… Day 1, Richard requested us to come down stairs for the dinner at 18:00, but instead of taking us to the restaurant for dinner, he tried his best to hard sell the alcohols he had in the bar to us and also to all the other guests. This happened even after we told him several times that we only want the meal and no alcohol from his bar. After about two hours, I had to tell him that I’m a diabetic and heart patient therefore I do really want to eat the meal and have a rest. He gave us the menu and I asked for lamb which was on the menu and he went crazy and said to us that they do not provide English food in this restaurant. I showed him what was on the menu, but he did not even apologise to us. He said lamb run out and asked us to select something else from the menu, again we selected duck, but that was run out as well!!! By then, Richard was sarcastic and rude to us as well as to other guests… In the end, we asked what we can have for our dinner. He almost shouted at us saying he and his wife only there to run the hotel without any staff therefore, we have to eat whatever his wife can cook!!! Finally, at about 21:00, we managed to have our dinner and I asked Richard to cancel our breakfast and dinner booking for the rest of the days however, he said we have to take the breakfast for next day because it was too late to cancel it. Next morning (Day 2), we were near the restaurant since 08:00 as Richard requested but as usual, past 09:00 we received burnt and overcooked full breakfast for two of us. They had a very large menu but it seems like most of the food either his wife did not know how to cook or had run out. Richard charged full price for our meals, BUT he FORGOT to provide the good quality food and services to the customers…"
