"I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. They were upfront about not having a chef at the moment but recommended nearby restaurants which was helpful. They did serve delicious cooked breakfasts in the mornings. The room was cozy and comfortable, well-heated which was nice during the cold weather. The building is old so there is no double glazing, leading to condensation in the mornings and a slightly damp smell. However, they cleaned and wiped the windows daily. The bathroom was ok, with a deep bath but low water pressure making it inconvenient to fill. The room was quiet despite the busy pub in the evenings. Overall, it's a good option for a quick visit to family, but not ideal for a luxurious mini-break."

I had a drink at this place and found the ciders and beers to be very good, with a wide variety to choose from. The prices are reasonable and the staff is friendly.

Only went here for a drink, which was a little expensive, so we only had one. The staff was very nice and polite. Dogs are welcome inside and outside. Service: 4 Location: 4

One not to be missed. Popped in for a pint. The staff are really friendly. There was a band on with dancing which was nice to see. Massive outside space and great in the summer I bet. Service: 5 Location: 5 Hotel highlights: Quiet View menu

The hotel was let down by the lack of maintenance on the outside of the building. Gutters blocked by plants down pipe not attached and dripping onto plastic parasol holders all night and no food in the evening. Rooms: 4 Service: 5 Location: 5 Hotel highlights: Great value

The building is old and tired, so keep that in mind. The staff are very kind and friendly. The breakfast was cooked well. There were no meals available during my visit, so be aware of that. The bedroom was clean enough. Overall, I would rate the rooms a 3, the service a 4, and the location a 4. The hotel's highlight is its quiet atmosphere.

I gave the room a rating of 3 because the mattress was very old and when I sat on the bed, it squashed down flat to the bed base. I couldn't get comfortable, but luckily there was also a single bed in the room which I slept on and found it to be a little better. I rated the service a 5 and the location a 5. The hotel offers great value overall. View menu

Very overpriced for the quality of the rooms and service. Despite being based in an inn, the large number of us staying there were chased off to bed at 1105 on a Saturday night by a grumpy barman with an early night in his mind. The breakfast service was characterful and orders were frequently delivered to our party wrong. The rooms are in desperate need of a refresh, very low standards and with mould on the walls in some rooms. The early morning chorus of the kitchen fans starting up is horrendous.

Clean, comfortable room, convenient location and a fairly decent breakfast the following morning. Unfortunately however, the staff were not great. After waiting for 15 minutes, the woman at reception treated our arrival like an inconvenience and thrust the card payment machine at me without smiling or saying much of a word. The woman at breakfast asked if we'd like tea or coffee once we'd sat down, then pointed us to the self service facilities in the corner. I thought she was joking. On the bright side, good WiFi, quiet hotel and a great mattress. Bathroom could have done with shower gel.

"We had two dinners and breakfast from this restaurant because we stayed in the Home Farm Hotel. We wanted to have the dinner and breakfast during our stay, but had to cancel our plans due to VERY POOR customer service received from Richard and also...because of his wife's cooking due to overcooked and burned full cook breakfast we received from the restaurant. Day 1, Richard introduced his wife to us, but she totally ignored us and in addition, she did not even bother to acknowledged and smiled with us. She seems to be very upset or very distance from everything or stressed/fed up about something at the time. Not sure this was due to over working… Day 1, Richard requested us to come down stairs for the dinner at 18:00, but instead of taking us to the restaurant for dinner, he tried his best to hard sell the alcohols he had in the bar to us and also to all the other guests. This happened even after we told him several times that we only want the meal and no alcohol from his bar. After about two hours, I had to tell him that I’m a diabetic and heart patient therefore I do really want to eat the meal and have a rest. He gave us the menu and I asked for lamb which was on the menu and he went crazy and said to us that they do not provide English food in this restaurant. I showed him what was on the menu, but he did not even apologise to us. He said lamb run out and asked us to select something else from the menu, again we selected duck, but that was run out as well!!! By then, Richard was sarcastic and rude to us as well as to other guests… In the end, we asked what we can have for our dinner. He almost shouted at us saying he and his wife only there to run the hotel without any staff therefore, we have to eat whatever his wife can cook!!! Finally, at about 21:00, we managed to have our dinner and I asked Richard to cancel our breakfast and dinner booking for the rest of the days however, he said we have to take the breakfast for next day because it was too late to cancel it. Next morning (Day 2), we were near the restaurant since 08:00 as Richard requested but as usual, past 09:00 we received burnt and overcooked full breakfast for two of us. They had a very large menu but it seems like most of the food either his wife did not know how to cook or had run out. Richard charged full price for our meals, BUT he FORGOT to provide the good quality food and services to the customers…"
